We're going to let you judge for yourself which lens is best for you. They're both excellent performers and can do a great job when used in conjunction with one another. But you're best off figuring out which focal length is better for you.

Sigma AF 35mm f/1.4 HSM DG | A ("Art") - APS-C Format Review / Test Report

At photokina 2012 Sigma announced a new "Global Vision", which divides their lens portfolio into 3 categories: "Contemporary", "Art" and "Sports". These product lines don't apply to existing Sigma lenses, but any newly developed lens will be assigned to one of them, giving a rough guidance about the...

Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM "A" review by JPMuller

I recently ran into an issue with my beloved Canon 35mm 1.4 L lens. After many years of exceptional quality and loyal service, it started to back focus when photographing an object or subject from that was more than 3 meters away.

Sharp; Low Distortion; Controlled CA's; Price

Heavy Vignetting

The first time I used this lens, I was a bit dissapointed. I could find the sharpness like my 35 1.4L. The reason was that my art had e terrible backfocus of +18 on my 5D MK3's. After Sigma calibrated my lens, I had a nother lens!

Sharpness after calibration Bokeh Color Fast AF

Nice build but scratches quick | Sigma hasn't the quality control as Canon No service for professionals like CPS from Canon

Classy Lens..

I was always told, 'You get what you pay for' and this lens is no exception! I've used the lens at f2.8, 4 and 8 and could not tell the difference in picture quality or sharpness across all apertures. Ok, so the lens is a bit bulky, but that's because it contains a serious amount of glass!

Best lens I've owned

This is an amazing lens. So sharp even at 1.4. Solidly built. I'm have a nikon d610 full frame and the rest of my lenses are nikon and this is far superior in imaging quality and build

AF did not work at all when the lens was shot on a D800E for the first time. After searching the internet for help I learned that the lens must be sent to Sigma together with the camera. The lens will then be adjusted to the specific camera individually without any charge.

Excellent ultra-sharp images even at max aperture; High resolution and contrast

Needs service before used for the very first time; No aperture ring

Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

This is the first f/1.4 lens for Nikon that I wouldn't hesitate using wide open, leaving little to be desired. With the possible exception of the 35/1.4 AFS G Nikkor, compared to other f/1.4 Nikkors optics in the 35/50 class, it is relatively free of coma and spherical aberration that hindered wide...

High overall IQ; great AF focus accuracy; very high build quality for a non-OEM lens

Corner falloff wide open; focuses in the opposite direction of Nikkor lenses and lack of weather sealing gasket on lens mount

Great lense. Large F-stop are so useable compare to my other f1.8 lense

Great product, I recommend those who want best in class image quality to get this lenses. I needed to shoot indoor all the time, 35mm is perfect wide angle for indoor use and large apature helps with low light condition. What'd wonderful glass.

Bulky
