Sigma 24mm F1.4 DG HSM Art

Sigma has another winner on its hands with the 24mm F1.4 DG HSM Art. It delivers crisp images, even at its widest apertures, and it's certainly capable of capturing images with a shallow depth of field when shooting at f/1.4, especially at close focus distances.

Sharp from edge to edge; Minimal distortion; Wide aperture; 9.8-inch close focus; Full-frame coverage; Available for multiple camera systems

Noticeable fall-off at f/1.4 and f/2; May require focus adjustment via USB Dock; Large and heavy; Omits stabilization

Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Review

This is an in-depth review of the Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens that was announced in February of 2015. Being a professional-grade wide-angle lens, the Sigma 24mm f/1.4 Art was made to challenge similar offerings from both Nikon and Canon, but at a much lower price point.

Sigma 24mm F/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens Review

Sigma has long been a leader in the third-party lens market, producing an astounding array of glass that's compatible with major DSLR systems from Nikon and Canon (plus their own camera line) as well mirrorless and other camera manufacturers.

REVIEW: Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM A Review

This lens is the latest addition to Sigma's 'Art' line of lenses that promise excellent optical quality and increased creative options thanks to a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture. Being one of Sigma's top of the range lenses, it sports a hypersonic focusing motor, brass lens mount and build quality...

Seems to have much better focus than mc-11 adapted canon mount version I have

Image Quality aside (which is super sharp from my experience with the EF/MC-11 combo), the focus seems much better on FE mount than my adapted 24. I Have 2 A9's so set them to identical settings and did a quick non-scientific test in a VERY dark room (think I was at 60 shutter wide open at 3200...

Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

A f/1.4 lens is meant to be used wide open at least sometimes (otherwise an f/2.8 lens is sure to be cheaper, lighter, and just as good). This one does meet expectations. Images shot wide open are pretty sharp already, and above all very "clean".

Sharpness; low aberrations; close focus; contrast; good working against the light

MF not that nice; AF precise but slow; size and weight of course

Amazing quality

When I bought this lens - I was really hesitant. For the price and off brand - I feared aberration, noise and slow focus. To my surprise this lens not only focus quickly, its quiet and takes amazing photos. It's the best lens I own (disclosure: I'm an amateur photographer )

Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM | A - APS-C Format Review / Test

A little while ago we reviewed the Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM | Art on a full format camera but such a lens remains attractive in the APS-C scope as well. Rather than being a moderate ultra-wide prime lens, it's equivalent to "38mm" here.

Excellent sharpness; Very low CA; Low distortion; Well built; Fast focusing; Keenly priced

No weather sealing; Falloff at maximum aperture (although typical for the type of lens
