The Sigma 24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM is a sturdily-built, full-frame standard zoom available a range of mounts at a price that won't break the bank

Constant f/4 aperture; Full-frame coverage; Full-time MF option; Optical stabilisation; Competitive pricing

Sigma 24-105mm f4 DG OS HSM

The 24-105mm f4 OS is Sigma's second full-frame lens in its Art-series which (quote Sigma) "offers sophisticated optical performance and abundant expressive power to deliver faithfully on your artistic vision". Blimey.

Very good image quality in the DX image-circle; Effective image stabilization; Quiet and fast AF operation; Solid build

Needs stopping down to f8 to produce good FX-corners; No weather sealing; Rather strong light fall off even at the long end; Quite prone to flare

REVIEW: Sigma 24-105mm f/4 DG OS HSM A Lens Review

This 4.3x standard zoom lens is the latest addition to Sigma's new 'Art' line of lenses that promise excellent optical quality. It can be picked up for around £700 and as it is one of Sigma's top of the range lenses, it sports a hypersonic focusing motor, optical stabilisation, brass lens mount and...

So Far, So Good!

I've been a working photographer for over 30 years, and never owned a Sigma lens before. For years I shot weddings/events/meetings with Mamiya/Pentax (medium format), and gradually moved to Canon/Nikon in the digital years. During that timeframe, I only purchased and used OEM lenses.

poor image, nice case!

I bought the Sigma 24-105 Art to use with my 5D Mark II based on many stellar reviews. So, when I got it I immediately did test shots (comparing to my EF 28-135) and discovered that generally the images were not up to the quality of my Canon EF 28-135 with the exception of contrast.

Strong Construction

Blurry Focus; Heavy

Sigma 24-105mm f/4 DG OS HSM "A" review by ChrisI

Solid build and a great looking lens. The SLR Gear review is right on. Though this Sigma is large and on the heavy side, for what its giving, I'll gladly haul it around. I first tried the Tamron 24-70, another great performer optically, more expensive, but also rather heavy and more limited zoom...

Excellent all around performer; sharp; good contrast; very pleasing build

weight; not weather sealed

SUPER SHARP, GREAT WALKAROUND LENS, PERFECT FOR FAMILY AND PORTRAIT SHOTS

SUPER SHARP. Using on a D7100 and D500. Perfect focal range for family photos, portraits, groups, etc. Great "walk around" focal length. LOVE this lens. Very solidly built like the other ART lenses. It's heavy, just shy of 2 pounds. Smooth stiff zoom ring, doesn't float. Really fine quality optics.
