Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM (Art) Lens review

In the past, when I was working in a photo store, the aversion towards other than original lenses (especially Sigma) was really overwhelming. A common malady of these lenses was that the same lens types differed from piece to piece and sometimes fell apart after half year of usage.

Couldn't be Happier!

This lens has not been off my D7100 since it arrived. Produces beautiful images in all sorts of situations. Pure Magic. Buy one and you will not be disappointed. Does anyone want a kit lensI don't. Camerasdirect, thanks for the Great Service and for having it in stock!

A product of perfection. Beats all the other lences in the range provided by NIKON or CANON.

Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM "Art"

During Photokina in 2012, Sigma officially announced a re-structuring of their entire lens lineup, declaring that all future lenses would each be part of one of three new product lines: "Contemporary" for affordable consumer lenses, "Sport" for fast and weather-sealed telephoto lenses, or "Art" for...

Constant F1.8 aperture throughout zoom range; Excellent build quality throughout the lens' construction; Large focus and zoom rings are perfectly dampened and easy to find and grasp; Capable of shallow-depth of field wide angle portraits; The only fast and wide angle solution for Pentax's many...

Not weather-sealed despite excellent build quality and both internal zoom and focusing; Dreadful autofocus accuracy when using PDAF (looking through viewfinder; Bokeh can be jarring with highlights; producing "frog-egg" or "donut" ring bokeh; Stark color; temperature; and contrast shift from wide...

Amazing! Unmatched!

Unlock the full potential of your camera. This lens is as sharp or sharper than my prime lenses. It has a professional quality build to go along with the unmatched sharpness. If you want to get serious about your photos then this lens covers you from 18-35mm (27-53mm).

Great low light lens. Photo was taken with a Nikon D7100

I have no hesitation in joining the chorus of praises for this lens as far as pure optics and ground breaking parameters. If you want to replace 2-3 prime lenses and can adjust to the size and weight, this is lens can do the job, but for me, the limited range and lack of stabilization made it a...

Lens Review: Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens

This is a really fantastic lens. If I owned it, I'm certain that it would get a ton of use. I could absolutely envision it as being my "walking around" lens that is attached to my camera most of the time.
