Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM
I had a non OS Sigma 18-200 and it was a nice little walk around lens. Took very nice shots with my Canon XTi. I upgraded to the OS version to get the OS function. It seems to work well – probably provides me with 2-3 stops performance and saves a lot of shots for me in less than bright light.
Pros:
- OS
- wide range zoom
- low cost
- small size
- good build
Cons:
- Corner softness

Very practical for travel, children and, in my case (I have two wide angles), using it as telephoto. The lens is very well built, but the focus ring is a little loose. Sharpness is pretty good if you stop down, but wide open could be better.

Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.4 DC Macro Lens Review
Over the last year or so, Sigma have gradually been updating their lenses to fit into their 'Art', 'Sport' and 'Contemporary' lens lines. The 18-200mm range is popular amongst those who own a camera with an APS-C sensor and wish to travel light, with the convenience of a large 11.1x zoom range.
Pros:
- Good optical performance for a super zoom lens
- Well built
- Lightweight
- Compact
- Optical stabiliser
- Compatible with Sigma USB dock
- Good value
Cons:
- Sloppy manual focusing action with no full-time manual override
- CA levels at 18mm when stopped down

Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM
The Sigma 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM lens is a good choice for those who don't want the hassle of changing lenses all the time, or perhaps if you're travelling and attempting to keep your kit bag light.

Ideal lens.
Got this for my wife who has a Nikon D3200. She is constantly changing from the 18-55mm lens to a 70-300mm lens. This lens fits nicely in the middle. Good sharp pictures, easy to use and auto focus spot on.

Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC lens review
Unsurprisingly a lens with this kind of focal range is rarely going to perform as well as one with a shorter range, but we were impressed overall by the results possible. Certainly unless you're into extreme wide or telephoto work, or demand the ultimate quality, you could really be very happy with...
Pros:
- Highly versatile 11.1x zoom range
- Great value
- Relatively small and light - great travel lens
- Polariser-friendly internal focusing
Cons:
- Tamron version very similar
- Pricier Nikkor version has anti-shake
- Pricier Nikkor version is optically faster
- Pricier Nikkor version has better build quality

The pictures below illustrate the focal length range from wide to telephoto (on Nikon DX format, 1.5x).
Pros:
- Huge 11x focal length range
- ideal general purpose and travel lens
- Relatively low chromatic aberration
- Low distortion (for a superzoom
- Reasonably effective optical stabilization system
- 2.5 - 3 stops benefit
Cons:
- Very inconsistent sharpness through the zoom range - extremely soft at 80mm
- Soft corners at all focal lengths
- Occasionally indecisive autofocus
- Slightly less resistant to flare than its more recent competitors

I'm very satisfied with both the lens and the camera
I bought this lens used a couple of years ago and paired it up with a used canon 7d, the total investment for both lens and camera was little less than $600. Overall, this is a very sharp lens. The drive motor is a little noisy but it focuses quite fast even in low light conditions.
