18-125 mm f/3.8-5.6 DC OS HSM
Originally posted 2009-01-28 on Optyczne.pl A couple years back, when Canon 300D and Nikon D70 reigned over the market of amateur DSLRs, the choice of substitutes of kit lenses was small, and the "kits" presented mediocre quality.
Cons:
- worse image quality at the edge of the frame at the maximum focal length
- large distortion at the wide angle

Sigma 18-125mm f/3.8-5.6 DC OS HSM review by Gunars Grinvalds
I purchased this lens last week for my Sony A200 on purpose to replace Sony's old DT3,5-5,6/18-70 kit lens. I perform some tests to compare new lens with my Sony 18-70 and Sony DT 4-5,6/55-200 lenses.
Pros:
- Good sharpness
- accurate
- sufficiently fast and quiet AF
- solid construction
- reasonable price
Cons:
- Somewhat high chromatic aberration in 18-50 mm zoom region

Not what I expected
I was anticipating the release of this lens for months. Finally a lens that has a decent amount of reach, while being able to back off to 18mm for landscapes. The focal length is probably the best part of this lens, its the perfect walk-around focal length.
Pros:
- Easily Interchangeable
- Image stabilization
- Strong Construction
Cons:
- Heavy
- Image Quality

Sigma AF 18-125mm f/3.8-5.6 DC HSM OS
The Sigma AF 18-125mm f/3.5-5.6 DC HSM OS is one of the more interesting releases in the extreme zoom range league - it tries to keep at least a little rest of sanity with its "mere" 7x zoom ratio.

My move from superzoom bridge camera to SLR was fairly smooth but I still hate changing lenses all the time. After doing some research and weighing up my (financial) options, I came to the conclusion that I was only going to be happy with a lens that offered a good zoom range above all else without...
Pros:
- Reduces hassle of changing lenses
- good zoom range
- impressive results
Cons:
- Has an issue with AF
- not quite as sharp
- fast and detailed as seperate lenses

An all purpose lens that does the job
I just wanted an upgrade from my standard kit lens for my Canon slr. After trawling the internet and finding the canon upgrade just a little too expensive I decided to buy the Sigma. I shot a wedding for a friend that weekend and both my friend and I are very happy with the results.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Durable
- Strong Construction
