In comparison, it's a different lens from the Sigma 85mm f1.4 Art lens but probably not enough besides focal lengths.

Sigma's range of Art lenses has catapulted the company into the upper echelons of lens production, and the 135mm f/1.8 demonstrates the appeal of the series beautifully.

Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens Review

As with many of the other 11 Sigma Art lenses before it, the Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens arrived to a solid anticipation. Sigma has primed that anticipation by continually delivering great-performance in the Art lens lineup and who doesn't love the optical specs of this lens

Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF - Brand New review

The cult Canon EF 135 mm f2L USM in the frame centre was able to reach 43.2 lpmm at most. The Sigma A 135 mm f/1.8 DG HSM reached 44.1 lpmm on the edge of full frame, when wide open. Do I have to say anything more? Once again we award the Sigma our „Editor’s Choice of Lenstip.com” badge.

Solid and stylish casing,, Brilliant image quality in the frame centre,, Sensational image quality on the edge of APS-C sensor,, Sensational image quality on the edge of full frame,, Lack of spherical aberration problems,, Practically zero lateral chromatic aberration,, Imperceptible distortion,,...

Noticeable vignetting at the maximum relative aperture and on full frame,, A tad too high longitudinal chromatic aberration.

Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF - Brand New review

The Sigma 135mm ƒ/1.8 DG HSM "Art" is one of the sharpest lenses we've ever tested. It's not an inexpensive lens, but for what you get -- great build quality, outstanding sharpness, little to no chromatic aberration, and almost zero distortion -- the lens is worth every penny, and destined to become...
