Fantastic fast f2.8 zoom all the way to 300mm

This is a real gem of a lens. Very fast (f2.8 through the entire zoom range), allowing the capture of quality images in lower light situations than smaller aperture zooms. Reaching all the way to 300mm provides the photographer with an excellent tool for sports as well as capturing candid people...

Excellent Lens! 4.5 Rating

This lens is a beast. I have a Canon 300 that I absolutely love, but as a single shooter following the ball at a baseball or fast pitch softball game, the 300mm is too much for a good part of the time. The 120-300 range is great. Used it with a 1Dx and 7Dm2. Used with a canon 1.4iii as well.

Stunning lens and in many ways.

OK you know a 300mm F2.8 is going to be heavy, that is a given and since you know that up front it is not a negative.First of all I needed this for a trip to Alaska, Adorama got to me a day early. Woohoo to them. The lens is remarkable for several reasons.

Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports

required no "focus adjustment" out of its box on delivery on a D4s or D810, at least for me. I sold my Nikon 300/2.8 VR to purchase this dense chunk of optics. except for the added weight (near 0.4 lbs) this outperforms the prime due to its overall versatility. works well with the Sigma 1.4x TC.

Sharp; Accurate

Heavier then a Prime 300/2.8 but does more; lens foot mount needs a little rethink but adequate

Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens Review

The Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens is a physically beautiful lens that delivers also-beautiful image quality even with a wide open aperture. Remarkable is that this lens has the widest max aperture available in any 300mm lens (f/2.8), but still offers a significant 120-300mm zoom...

REVIEW: Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM S Lens Review

This 2.5x zoom lens sports a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, silent focusing and optical stabilisation. It slots into Sigma's 'Sports' range of lenses and is especially interesting as the zoom range is similar to that of a 70-200mm lens with a 1.4x teleconverter fitted, whilst maintaining a fast...

Lens Test: Sigma APO 120-300mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM

Sigma has an enviable corner on the f/2.8 long telezoom market: Its massive 200–500mm and more manageable 120–300mm full-framers are the sole occupants of the niche. Now, Sigma has upgraded the latter, adding image stabilization to this pro's 70–200mm staple on steroids.

High-quality telephoto lenses for DSLRs are tricky to buy. They're a huge investment, with prices starting at around £1,500 and heading sharply skywards. There are also considerable usability problems: long focal lengths require fast shutter speeds, which require large apertures, which all results...

Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM APO review by sonylover1

Bought this lens after long consideration and after testing a used non OS version. Very pleasent surprise after testing on birds and wildlife. Have a supersharp Canon 100-400 but need more reach and better F plus full AF which is imposible witch Canon and a TC (unless you go for 1D).

Sharp wide open, super sharp from 6.3; Takes TC with full AF; 2x very good from f9.

Heavy; Inconsistent AF wich requires micradjustment.

120-300 mm f/2.8 APO EX DG OS HSM

Practically every optics producer has a unique lens on their offer, something which you won't find in line-ups of its competitors. Sigma boasts several such models, mainly among its zoom telephoto devices; for example the very well-done Sigma 100-300 mm f/4 DG EX APO IF HSM was one of a kind.

unacceptable frame edges after attaching the converter; weak performance against bright light; necessity of using huge 105 mm filters; lack of autofocus limiter
