Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM

The Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM ($3,599 direct) isn't a lens for the faint of heart. The zoom, which is compatible with full-frame and APS-C camera bodies and is available in Canon, Nikon, and Sigma mounts, brings new meanings to the words big and heavy.

Wide f/2.8 aperture throughout zoom range; Impressive telephoto reach; Very sharp; Minimal distortion; Excellent build quality.

Expensive; Very large and heavy; Huge front element increases filter costs

Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens Review

The Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Sports Lens is a physically beautiful lens that delivers also-beautiful image quality even with a wide open aperture. Remarkable is that this lens has the widest max aperture available in any 300mm lens (f/2.8), but still offers a significant 120-300mm zoom...

REVIEW: Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM S Lens Review

This 2.5x zoom lens sports a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture, silent focusing and optical stabilisation. It slots into Sigma's 'Sports' range of lenses and is especially interesting as the zoom range is similar to that of a 70-200mm lens with a 1.4x teleconverter fitted, whilst maintaining a fast...

Its like XL vision of Canon 70-200mm F2.8 L ii.

It's bit sharper @300mm F2.8 than Canon 300mm F4 L @F4. But at 300mm you would get similar reach about 280mm of Canon teles.

Lovely image quality and build

This was bought to be my new wildlife lens teamed with a 2x Sigma teleconverter on a full frame Nikon D600. Just returned from a safari (I had one days practice with the lens before leaving the Uk for South Africa) and I must say my fears of it being too heavy and the image quality being compromised...

Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM Review

Sigma's 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM is the lens to get if a 70-200mm f/2.8 just isn't long enough, but you'll need a strong back to lug it. (4.5 out of 5) Editor's Choice Pros Wide f/2.8 aperture throughout zoom range Impressive telephoto reach Very sharp Minimal distortion Excellent build quality...

Lens Test: Sigma APO 120-300mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM

Sigma has an enviable corner on the f/2.8 long telezoom market: Its massive 200–500mm and more manageable 120–300mm full-framers are the sole occupants of the niche. Now, Sigma has upgraded the latter, adding image stabilization to this pro's 70–200mm staple on steroids.
