Shure SRH550DJ review
Shure's SRH550DJ headphones have swivelling cups that make them easier to move away from your ear if you wish to monitor outside sounds. As the name suggests, it's a nice feature for bedroom DJs, and one that adds comfort and flexibility for everyone else.

Shure SRH550DJ DJ Headphones Have had these Shure SRH 550DJ headphones for four weeks. My listening is mainly Classical and Jazz and they are perfect for these genres. I was initially put off by the DJ thing (something to do with the fact you can swivel the earpieces round), but as it turns out,...

Great buy
Good solid pair of phones for under $100. Sound great, with decent bass. For me these are all I needed. I watched a bunch of you-tube video's on headphones and came away thinking that the reviewers wanted to appear as DJ audiophiles.

Shure SRH 550 DJ
From my POV, I like this headset, I am using it to upgrade from my headset at work. due to sound isolation issue. This one doesn't isolate too much so that I can still know if some one really need to catch my attention.
Pros:
- If you looking for upgrade from your annoying inear or headset
Cons:
- All around headset bass is a litle weak
- but equalizer will fix the issue

Intended for disc jockeys and home studio engineers, Shure's SRH550DJ is an affordable entry-level headphone pair. At $125 (list), the SRH550DJ is less expensive than some more-hyped DJ-oriented models, like the Beats Pro by Dr. Dre From Monster ($449.95, 4 stars).
Pros:
- Flat, non-exaggerated response geared towards DJs, home studios, and musicians
- No distortion at high volumes when used with mobile devices, laptops
- DJ-friendly design with flip-up ear cups
Cons:
- Can be uncomfortable for long listening periods
- Will distort slightly at high volumes when used in studio or live gig scenarios with more powerful amplification
