Shadows of the Damned Review

The things that will keep you coming back to Shadows of the Damned – the soundtrack, boss battles, weapons and at-times well-executed humour – are all implemented rather unconventionally.

Shadows of the Damned Review

Shadows of the Damned is more than the sum of its rough parts, a rollicking gamers' game which brims with personality and individuality amid a muddy ocean of po-faced shooters. Experience it before its relegation to the status of 'cult classic'.

Honestly, even if you forget about the demons constantly trying to kill you, hell is a pretty lousy place. Take, for instance, an ordinary act like turning on the lights. While residing on the earthly plane, you just flick a switch and your world is bathed in a fluorescent glow.

Uniformly outstanding sound design; Challenging and terrifying boss fights; Good array of different gameplay activities; all of them fun; Clever use of darkness mechanics; Morphing guns are a pleasure to shoot

No New Game; Stiff movement animation

Funny and scary at the same time

How would you kill time without games like these? From start to finish this is game is pretty cool. You can't play this game before family coz there is some nudity but in all it has thrills and chills. The game is pretty achievable in terms of upgrades.

Garcia the Demon Hunter

`Shadows of the Damned'; you had me at Garcia Hotspur. You don't have to include a wisecracking skull that turns into a gun, or a series of outlandish demons, just give me a central hero called Garcia Hotspur and let me unleash hell on the demon hordes.

Shadows of the Damned PS3

It's good to see more and more games coming to our shelves that would once have been resigned to no more than an exclusively Eastern release.

Shadows of the Damned (PS3)

Shadows of the Damned is a game about tragedy, despair and desperation. It's a game about foul-mouthed, hideous and nightmarish demons, damned to an excruciating existence in the gloomy, unique vision of Hell presented by Suda51 and developer Grasshopper Manufacture.

PS3/X360 Review - 'Shadows of the Damned'

Shadows of the Damned is an all-new psychological action thriller that follows a demon hunter deep into a hyper-twisted re-imagining of hell where he must rescue the love of his life by defeating the armies of darkness with the power of the light.

Shadows of the Damned

Fun beyond a shadow of a damned

Unique mixture of adolescent humour and tense horror; creative environments, weapons, characters and bosses; upgrade system allows you to customize your experience; solid shooting mechanics and puzzles; great presentation

Very short campaign and little replay value; no multiplayer; some humour can feel forced; a little on the easy side
