Sennheiser RS 170 review: Sennheiser RS 170
The RS 170 continues Sennheiser's unchanging dedication to sonic clarity and they're well worth the price for anyone looking to grab wireless sound from a TV, AV receiver, cable box, or game console. The $279.95 Sennheiser RS 170 is a set of wireless headphones with a base unit that doubles as a transmitter and a battery charger. One of the nicest things a reviewer can say about wireless headphones is that they don't sound like wireless headphones, and the RS 170 certainly succeeds on that score. Connectivity is limited to just one analog input, which might be a deal breaker for some potential buyers, but the idea is that you hook up the transmitter to your TV or AV receiver, and then run your sources, like your cable box, Blu-ray player, or games, etc., through the TV or receiver. If that's what you're looking to do, the RS 170 is definitely worthy of your consideration.- The Sennheiser RS 170 is a full-size set of headphones with Kleer wireless technology that delivers CD-quality sound.

Sennheiser RS 170 Wireless Headphones
There may be years of your life where there's no need for a set of full-sized wireless headphones, but there are other times when a good pair is the wisest investment in audio that you could make.- Lossless wireless tech
- Good build quality
- Strong bass response
- Boxy mid-range
- Wireless comes with price premium
Follow up.
The solution to the wireless issue for me was to play around with the channel that my router was using to broadcast. I think I have it set to 1 now instead of auto. This has resulted in no issues as the headphones and the wireless network are not on the same frequency anymore.- Still wireless and have pretty good sound
- Surround is nice as is the extra bass
- Lightweight and easy to use
- You do not hear much outside noise
- My previous review was with the headphones at work
- This one is for home
- Shorter range than stated
- Interference with other wireless products - specifically with wireless usb cards for computers.
Ordered as additional headset
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend- Comfortable
- Easy to set up
- Bulky
- Pricey
