We have been waiting for Kleer Audio Technology to appear in home headphones and are thrilled that Sennheiser has led the way. Wireless headphones are nothing new. For many years there have been battery-powered headphones available, receiving from transmitter units that connect to a headphone socket...

Sennheiser KLEER Wireless Over-the-Ear Headphones (RS170) with Surround Simulation

Used this item for a few days and these are my impressions: easy to install and start up, good sound, effective controls. The only thing that could be better is a small "turn-off-on" button on the headphones embedded between the + and - sound--volume buttons, when adjusting the volume it's easy to...

Sennheiser RS 170

These headphones also have the closed-back design that's most desirable for private TV watching. Also, like the RS 180, the RS 170 lets you add multiple sets of headphones to your system.
Pros:
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Comfortable
  • solid build
  • Great wireless range
  • Good passive noise reduction
Cons:
  • Fiddly controls
  • Surround sound is unimpressive

Great headphones

I purchased these several months ago due to a slight hearing loss which meant I had to have the volume up very loud to hear people speaking on TV and movies. However this meant the sound effects were too loud for everybody.

3rd Party Vendor Sarjo might not replace your defective product (or even answer your requests)

I cannot accurately rate the product, since it was defective from the start. I have purchased items from Amazon for years now. They are usually quick to resolve any issues. Unluckily for me, I bought these headphones from one of their third party vendors.

Half of a solution

You sell the HDR170 wireless headphones but don't list or sell the complete RS170 system on you website. Why offer the HDR170 when a new customer needs the whole thing. Now I have to return the HDR170 and find the RS170 somewhere else.
Pros:
  • stupid marketing
Cons:
  • stupid marketing

Good and Bad

Great sound quality but the buttons on the headset are very difficult (virtually impossible) to use. In addition, the buttons on the control button can't be pressed with one hand - must use one hand to hold the base while the other presses the button.
Cons:
  • Terrible ergonomics

i like wireless hedphones and these are ok, i preffered my rs 120s also bought from richersounds though. this is due to the fact i preffered the softer 120s cup and also the 120s turned off after a bit when sound signal lost ie tv turned off.

I'm using these to listen to our TV; they are connected to the headphone out. I bought them to replace my failed Sony MDR-RF4000K, but I'm not too sure if it was worth it. Compared to Sony, I can't really say there is *any* improvement, maybe only when playing GT5 - Sony had a very weird problem...
Pros:
  • Sound fairly decent
Cons:
  • Cut out when input volume is low
  • cups are too shallow for my ears, manual switch on
