Sennheiser HD 800
It's not every day that we get to try on an exceptional pair of headphones--but is the HD 800 really that special?
Pros:
- Very comfortable
- especially on the ears
- Sound appears to be in front of your head rather than inside of it like on most headphones
- Sound even clearer than on Sennheiser's last market-leader
- the HD 650

Sennheiser HD800 Headphones HD 800 Audiophile Headphone
Well before we get into the review I would like to introduce my setup. I used the HD800 with a Woo Audio 6 and with a Creek OBH-11 amp. The sourse was a Bel Canto DAC 2 coupled to a Sony Es changer. Cables used were transparent audios interlink series. The HD800 were tested with the stock cables.

If your audio knows no budget, these cans will cocoon you in a sea of phonic bliss. The HD800s are some of the top Hi-Fi headphones around if you've got the quality tracks and components to run them.
Pros:
- Great sound quality
- Pushes to high volume without ever distorting
Cons:
- Leaks sound very loudly
- will only really get the premium taste out of Hi-Fi components and a dedicated headphone amplifier

Sennheiser does it again, upping the sound and build quality from its legendary HD 650 cans to deliver a majestic sonic experience that has to be heard to be believed. However, you’ll need a great system to extract the full £1000 of value from them.

As with every high-end audio equipment, you need to have an equally capable set of partner accessories that will complement it, thereby providing a complete quality experience. In the case of the Sennheiser HD 800, Dubai Audio Center recommended that I pair it up with the Schiit Valhalla headphones...

Expensive but Awesome

i was very excited to try the hd800s together with the Oppo HA-1 amp and dac. i thought that it is going to be a clear improvement over the legendary hd800. however... look i like the black matte look of this model more than the silver paint of the hd800.

i went and tried these badboys the other day, and they are brilliant! they are worth the price but i would never pay that much for headphones. well maybe if i become a millionaire someday.
