Pros
I have owned this for just over 9 months now and am very happy with my purchase. I will definitely recommend this drive.
Pros:
- great stability and plenty of space to backup all of our data

- none so far

GARBAGE!
Unit suddenly lost power, will not restart, (NO Power) ALL our back-up GONE!! Seagate should be ashamed for producing such a poor quality product. Now to RMA it back, we have to pay out of pocket, were done with Seagates Expansion Desktop Drives.

Don't trust Seagate products with your data!
TL;DR: Don't buy Seagate if your data is important! This has been a problematic drive since I bought it. The 'power saving' feature would cause it to be detected by my laptop as being disconnected when it went into this mode, which eventually lead to my laptop no longer being able to recognize it...

Rubbish Refurb
Would not recommend. Would not purchase again. (Though, to be fair, after decades of computer use and dozens of drives, I've probably been lucky to only have this and an old laptop drive that have crashed on me.
Pros:
- No pro big enough to mention in the face of the cons
- I mean, that it's a lovely shade of black is hardly noteworthy
Cons:
- I had this drive running for 66 days before it crapped out. Without warning. One day, working a treat
- the next day, suddenly, loads of clicking and, if I was very lucky, my computer might see that it existed and had data on it.

High failure rate
This is the THIRD Seagate drive muilti GB drive I have had which has simply stopped working (the last two fortunately within the warranty period) for no apparent reason. One died in the middle of a backup, the other was working second to last time it was connected, but not the last time.

Great storage
love the large storage capacity. great to use as a backup hard drive or to store precious photos.

Amazing HDD for CHEAP!!
Absolutely love this little guy. Bought it for storage since I run my boot on a SSD and this drive does it all. Tested it to make sure it work when it arrived, and then tore it apart.

Not appropriate as a backup drive
Bought this drive as local backup but MS Backup fails everytime complaining of sector or related errors. Formatted the drive to try to clear the problem but still no go. Will probably have to return and try another drive.

- Portable
- Quiet
Cons:
- Unreliable

Good job Seagate
Amazing device. I had to do a lot of research not being a tech person, but as soon as I bought it I was congratulated for my purchase with the saying that "Seagate makes long resisting products, talking out of personal experience". I have it since 2013 and it is still as good as when it was new :)
