Great Backup Storage Unit
This is my second Seagate Backup Plus device. I have the thunderbolt add-on module and use it for maximum speed.<br /><br />This device has been flawless. Never had an error with it, and it is incredibly portable.<br /><br />I purchased this unit for backing up my photo files.
Pros:
- Compact
- Easy To Set Up
- Easy to use
- High Capacity
- Light
- Portable
- Quiet

- No Cons For Me

Brilliant device, compact, silent, runs cool, needs no external psu, very good value. Needed reformatting for MacOS (took 20 seconds so no problem), and their included software is not terribly...useful.

Great hard drive for anyone
Great sized hard drive offering speedy and reliable performance all around. I've used this mainly on USB 2.0 and frequently on USB 3.0 and both offered above-average performances. Would've been even better if the SATA-to-USB connector can be locked in place.
Pros:
- Speedy and reliable performance
- silent operation
- relatively thin and conservative profile
- LED activity indicator is non-obtrusive
Cons:
- The USM attachment to the actual hard drive feels a little bit unreliable
- In real operating conditions this is virtually a non-issue, but it would've been nice if there was a switchable lock or screws to secure the SATA connector onto the hard drive

Great Buy! Seagate Backup Plus Portable 1TB Drive
I've had this product for 2 months and I bought it for both long term storage of pics and music, and for large exchanges of information from one computer to another, It's slim & lightweight for the amount of memory it affords; it works smoothly in both my Mac & PC.

Pros:
- Great transfer speeds- up to 150mb+ a sec for large files
- It's quiet, light and doesn't need a separate power supply.
Cons:
- Random access speeds are decent but not amazing
- Expect ~25mb a second if you're copying thousands of smaller files

The BEST buy I ever made
Its very simple to explain why I like this so much....when you have 1 terabyte of storage in a space that is less than half the size of a paperback book you know somebody did something right. Its light, its fast, its so easy to carry you could forget you have it..

This was by far the easiest backup I have done. Simply put cord in the storage device and plug it into your computer port and click to begin the backup. I am continually moving either my own laptop or the church's laptop back and forth from home to church and the unit itself is a sleek, slim design...

a 2 in one product
