Almost too easy to use?
Just got this recently and have backed up my laptop a couple of times. Seems almost too easy and too fast... not sure if I've done it properly but it says that everything was backed up! Would highly recommend it!

The product is what I expected & works as expected flawlessly. The only negative coment is that the case is plastic & not metal. I would recommend this product to others.

Great Backup Storage Unit
This is my second Seagate Backup Plus device. I have the thunderbolt add-on module and use it for maximum speed.<br /><br />This device has been flawless. Never had an error with it, and it is incredibly portable.<br /><br />I purchased this unit for backing up my photo files.

Seagate 1 TB Hard Disk Drive

Brilliant device, compact, silent, runs cool, needs no external psu, very good value. Needed reformatting for MacOS (took 20 seconds so no problem), and their included software is not terribly...useful.

Easy to use
The instructions for setting up the Seagate were hard to follow. However, the tech at the 800 number quickly, efficiently, professionally walked me through the process in a matter of minutes.

seemed easy to use at first, and now I can't back up anything without buying their software online. so glad I bought this one. i owned an older version of this and it still works great, but the backup plus seems to be the problem.

Great hard drive for anyone
Great sized hard drive offering speedy and reliable performance all around. I've used this mainly on USB 2.0 and frequently on USB 3.0 and both offered above-average performances. Would've been even better if the SATA-to-USB connector can be locked in place.
Pros:
- Speedy and reliable performance
- silent operation
- relatively thin and conservative profile
- LED activity indicator is non-obtrusive
Cons:
- The USM attachment to the actual hard drive feels a little bit unreliable
- In real operating conditions this is virtually a non-issue, but it would've been nice if there was a switchable lock or screws to secure the SATA connector onto the hard drive

Problem copying files with long names
A good product, however a problem is that it does not copy files with longer file names. This means that when one wants to make a safety copy of a large number of files, one has to revisit all the files that one wants to copy because not all files get copied.

Great Buy! Seagate Backup Plus Portable 1TB Drive
I've had this product for 2 months and I bought it for both long term storage of pics and music, and for large exchanges of information from one computer to another, It's slim & lightweight for the amount of memory it affords; it works smoothly in both my Mac & PC.
