Absolutely great product
This is the 2nd purchase of this item and I am totally satisfied with both of them. I use one to store all of my videos and the new one to back up everything else. Haven't had a single problem from either of them. I would recommend them to my friends.

Quit after a exactly a month
Worked fine for about a month. Just as I was finishing copying my old external 160GB drive to this new one, it stopped working. The drive does not spin up, is not recognized by the computer, the light on the front keeps blinking, and the drive makes beeping sounds, almost like a busy phone.

a very easy way to increase storage need. Just plug in a USB 3.0 port and everything is automatic configure. Drive show up instantly. speed is quite good for an external drive.

Let down
I have had 3 of these drives and returned two of them. The detachable power supply appears to be the problem not the hard drive itself. Also, at times simply touching the drive or usb cable will turn it off. They are worse on a Mac IE: drive spins down whilst copying and hangs the process.

Great value storage device for backing up large amounts of data. Have been filling it none stop since it arrived. No problems to report.
Pros:
- Huge amounts of storage for a Great price
Cons:
- No Thunderbolt
- However adaptors can be bought separately

The Desktop Drive from Seagate is nice, and lets gives me a whopping 4TB space to store all my vital back up.

Great Storage at Great Price
Purchased for $100 on Black Friday online. Great, convenient purchase experience with quick delivery ... Fired right up out of the box and have had no problems since. Rapid 2.0 and especially 3.0 usb transfers with good dashboard interface software - Love it and love what I paid for it

This seagate 2terabyte backup plus is simple and very easy to use. It may be a bit weighty to carry around but i've been able to save all my music, all my pictures, all my documents and even a whole lot of full length, high quality movies and I've still got many many more space.

Happy with this product
Happy to have this. It's easy to set up. Requires external power. Long USB 3.0 cable included. It does what it says it does. I use it for video storage and multiple computer hard drive mirrors. I liked the Nero backup software at first, but could never get the cloud storage to work.
