I do not record very much video, so cannot judge how well the recording speed does with this function. However, I have noticed a speed up in recording raw files....
What you want for memory storage in a DSLR is a card that doesn't cause any delay from the click to the next click. That would be this card as long as your camera supports SDXC, like the Nikon D5100. There is no pause between shots while the buffer clears to the card.
