Samsung WB150F Review
The fact that travel compact cameras are now a common sight does not come across as a surprise. Practically, all camera manufacturers have released their own model and are in the process of pushing the envelope further, as far as optical zoom lenses are concerned.

Samsung WB150F Review
If you aren't looking at professional-level compact performance, but want a point-and-shoot – particularly one that's hitting the connected ground running – then look no further.

- Nice
- intuitive UI and settings navigation

Samsung WB150F
The Samsung WB150F ($229.99 list) packs a long 18x zoom lens into a compact body, but its sexiest feature is built-in support for Wi-Fi. Connect to a hotspot and you'll be able to upload photos directly to your Facebook account, email them to a friend, or view them on your TV.
Pros:
- Built-in Wi-Fi
- Sharp lens
- 18x zoom
- Compact design
- Inexpensive
Cons:
- Slow performance
- Noisy images at higher ISOs
- Video capture is limited to 720p

Samsung WB150F
The compact digital camera market offers buyers a brain-scrambling amount of choice, so when a point-and-shoot comes along and offers something unique, we sit up and take notice. That's the case with the Samsung WB150F, which sports Wi-Fi for easy photo sharing - and quite a bit more.
Pros:
- Big 18x optical zoom
- decent image and movie quality
- manual controls for enthusiasts
Cons:
- Some problems with Wi-Fi apps
- Wi-Fi backup only works with Windows

Samsung WB150F Review: Share and Share Alike
In my own view, it's becoming increasingly unacceptable for point-and-shoot cameras not to offer wireless connectivity. Better even is the option to transfer photos from your camera to a phone or tablet.
Pros:
- Big 18x optical zoom lens
- Manual exposure modes
- In-camera art modes
- Excellent Wi-Fi features
Cons:
- Noise at ISO 400 and up
- Only 720p video
- More clipped highlights than usual

Samsung WB150F review: Samsung WB150F
If you're happy with the photos from your smartphone, but wish you had an actual camera with a long zoom lens and wireless sharing and backup, check out the Samsung WB150F. While camera manufacturers like Sony, Panasonic and Canon are dabbling in Wi-Fi cameras, Samsung's really invested in the concept for 2012, offering several cameras with a big helping of wireless functionality. Included in those models is the WB150F compact superzoom.
Pros:
- Built-in Wi-Fi that's easily set up for wireless sharing and backup. Abundant set of shooting and editing options.
Cons:
- Samsung's smartphone apps are only guaranteed to work with Samsung Galaxy devices. Auto-backup software is Windows-only. Photo quality is barely better than a smartphone. Shooting performance is somewhat slow.

Samsung WB150F
Like Samsung's ultra-compact SH100 Wi-Fi camera from last year, the WB150F is good value. Instead of using Wi-Fi to upsell consumers, Samsung just includes it, which is how it should be done. Unfortunately, the camera's photo quality isn't much better than you see from a smartphone camera.
Pros:
- Built-in Wi-Fi that's easily set up for wireless sharing and backup
- Abundant set of shooting and editing options
Cons:
- Samsung's smartphone apps are only guaranteed to work with Samsung Galaxy devices
- Auto-backup software is Windows-only
- Photo quality is barely better than a smartphone
- Shooting performance is somewhat slow
