Samsung Galaxy Y Netphone Edition | Review
Well, now comes the younger brother to the Netphone set, and we're putting it through its paces. It's the Samsung Galaxy Y . That's Y as in Young. It says so right there on the box. The Samsung Galaxy Young. Okay, okay, yes that sounds kind'a tacky.- Great value for its price
- offering the Gingerbread experience
- if you can call it that
- at a feature phone price point
- Pretty good build quality (for its price
- Reasonably long battery life
- Did I already mention the price
- Display doesn't do justice to the Galaxy line
- Paltry 2-megapixel bare-bones camera (yawn
- Did I already mention the display? Well
- this time
- the tiny size of the display
If you are a starter and are looking for a really cheap handset then Galaxy Young is the best option among Samsung's low end series and other handsets in the market such as Nokia X2 and C3.
Everyone's invited
The Samsung Galaxy Y is a smartphone approved for all audiences. Perhaps in hindsight, our Galaxy Note review should've been rated PG. But well yeah, we're always wiser in hindsight. Anyway, you don't just wake up one morning wanting a superphone like the Note. You need a place to start.
New Samsung Galaxy Y Models Announced

Samsung Galaxy Y review
It's true that most people interested in this phone won't be fussed that a newer version of Android is out in the wild, but even so, it's hard to recommend this phone. It's cheap but rivals offer so much more for the price.
Samsung Galaxy Y Review
My main gripe with this phone is the lack lustre screen, which just ruins the whole experience, if you're into watching videos or surfing the net. Overall, we feel it's a decent buy, if you have small hands and desperately want a touchscreen phone on the cheap side.
