Samsung Galaxy Y Android phone
Provided you don't expect it to effectively compete with more expensive phones, the Samsung Galaxy Y is great value for money. A tiny screen and average battery life do dampen its appeal, but the Galaxy Y remains a good budget smartphone. Android phones continually exceed our expectations when it comes to bang for your buck and the Samsung Galaxy Y is a perfect example. Retailing for just $129 through Telstra, the Galaxy Y is a compact, functional and easy to use smartphone. The small screen and low resolution do hinder the overall user experience, but at the end of the day this is all about value for money.- Competitive price
- Attractive design
- Good features list
- Tiny screen
- Average battery life
Samsung Galaxy Y review
"Y" means "Young" in Samsung 's Galaxy vernacular, and that's where this budget Android is very much aimed. The budget Android space is rapidly getting more crowded, with the likes of the HTC Wildfire S, the Orange San Francisco 2, T-Mobile 's Energy and Vivacity, and even the new Huawei Ascend G300...- Compact
- good price
- 2GB microSD card
- Low quality screen
- not very distinctive
- poor battery life

Samsung Galaxy Y review Review
The Y in Galaxy Y stands for 'young' and that's exactly what this phone delivers -- a starter smart phone for kids. Its budget screen probably won't even impress the under 10s, but for playing Angry Birds , checking Facebook and ignoring phone calls from parents, this device can suffice.- Cheap to buy
- MicroSD card slot
- Poor quality display
- Low-power chip
- Very small size limits its appeal
Samsung Galaxy Y
The Samsung Galaxy Y is a bargain basement Android phone.
