Samsung Galaxy S9

It would be a mistake to think of the Galaxy S9 ( $620 at Amazon ) as the runt of the litter. Compared to the Galaxy S9 Plus ( $708 at Amazon ) and Galaxy Note 9 , the cheaper Galaxy S9 doesn't have as many flashy, shiny features.

The Galaxy S9 once again proves Samsung's formula of a gorgeous 5.8-inch screen, sexy dual-curved design and terrific camera for well-lit shots can't go wrong; Whiplash-fast speeds, wireless charging and water resistance complete the package; And it looks stunning in purple and blue

Low-light photos often look blurry and lack the fine texture and contrast of competing phone cameras; The Galaxy S9's camera frequently, accidentally switches between modes; 3D avatar software is tragically bad, and a new face-unlock tool is inherently insecure.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Review

The Galaxy S9 is a perfect-sized phone with a fantastic camera and great performance.

Excellent display; Great 5.8-inch size; Good speakers; Strong performance; Stunning low-light camera

Battery life is lower than competition; Slow Android updates; Camera not as versatile as S9 Plus

Samsung Galaxy S9 review

It's true what they say - you don't fix what's not broken. And that's what Samsung did for the Galaxy S9 - it didn't change what was already great, it just tweaked specs wherever possible. And it has worked out just fine for them.

Premium water-tight design; Class-leading AMOLED screen; Among the fastest Android phones (in benchmarks; Great audio skills and stereo speakers; Variable aperture camera; 960fps slow-mo; automatic motion detection; Class-leading still and video quality; Excellent retail bundle

Samsung Galaxy S9 review: Incrementally better in all the right places

The Galaxy S9 is an evolution rather than a revolution, but Samsung has upgraded it in all the right places.

The Infinity Display is even better than the one on the S8; Camera takes fantastic pics in all kinds of light; Fingerprint sensor is in a much better...

Camera features like Dual Aperture and Super Slow-mo are a little gimmicky; AR Emoji is fun but not as advanced as Apple's Animoji; The single camera...

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ Review: Standing firm

Just minutes after getting my hands on Samsung's latest flagship S Series smartphone, one fact was abundantly clear - if you weren't fond of the Galaxy S8 and S8+, then you're going to have similar feelings about the S9 and S9+.

Super Slow-mo mode is great (when it works; One of the best Android cameras out there; Build quality is superb

Looks the same as the S8/S8; Glossy body isn't for everyone; AR Emoji are lacklustre

Samsung Galaxy S9 Review

Samsung has done some pretty impressive upgrades on the Galaxy S9. It's got a slightly more compact in an almost identical design, a more practical placement of the fingerprint scanner and an inclusion of stereo speakers are all nice.

Impressive performance; Very nice display; Great camera performance; Loud; stereo speakers; Fast wireless charging; Water resistance

Battery life did not improved; Super expensive

Samsung Galaxy S9 Review

The Samsung Galaxy S9 forces us to question upgrades for their own sake. On the one hand, there's our desire as consumers to have the very latest tech gadget, even if we don't even use the phone we have now to its full extent.

Galaxy S8's excellent design gets even better; Screen; performance & battery all solid; Camera capable of impressive low-light performance; Price is competitive

Intelligent Scan trades security for convenience; Super Slow-mo is 720p only and needs bright lighting; Bixby still feels gimmicky

Samsung Galaxy S9 review: love and hate

At first glance, the Galaxy S9 looks unspectacular, because apart from the repositioning of the fingerprint sensor, Samsung seems not to have changed anything on the surface. Only after you hold the Galaxy S9 in your hand and compare it side-by-side to the Galaxy S8 are the changes in detail...

Performance; Camera; Display; Bixby

Unoriginal design; Slow unlocking; Battery life; Bixby wake-up

Samsung Galaxy S9 Smartphone Review

We prefer the Samsung Galaxy S9 over its larger sibling S9+. It is not as bulky and the dual-camera is not worth the additional price. The Korean manufacturer once again delivers a really great smartphone, but it is more of a facelift of last year's Galaxy S8 and there are still some bugs, and some...

appealing design, great display, fast SoC, LTE Cat; 18, protected against water and dust, expandable storage, Dual-SIM SKU available (Duos, good sensor equipment, USB 3.1 with DP, HDMI, and OTG, great camera, wireless charging, Ultra HD videos at 60 FPS

can overheat under load; videos at 60 FPS with a limited runtime; no Dual-VoLTE; long charging time; warranty excludes damages caused by liquids

Samsung Galaxy S9 Review

Samsung has just announced its Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ flagship smartphones at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Once again, many of the rumors leading to the launch were spot on: the Galaxy S9 is everything the industry expected it to be, and a little bit more.

Excellent Performance; Excellent Display; Insane Low-Light Camera and Slow-Mo

Nothing Obvious
