Samsung Galaxy S6 Review

The Galaxy S6 is the best-designed phone Samsung has ever created, and its interface is a true step ahead of the Android pack.

Elegant and premium build; Gorgeous display; Better camera features and performance; Much-improved fingerprint reader; Quick charging; Supports both wireless charging standards

No longer waterproof; Non-removable battery; No memory expansion; Gets noticeably hot when pushed; Tinny speaker sound

Samsung Galaxy S6 (Sprint)

Five months after its release, the Samsung Galaxy S6 remains the best Android smartphone we've seen this year. The S6 has a revamped design that incorporates a premium glass-and-metal build, a gorgeous display, an improved camera, and a blazing-fast processor-making it one of the best-looking and...

Attractive glass-and-metal design; Gorgeous display; Fast processor

Lacks expandable memory and removable battery

Galaxy S6 review: Samsung's glorious return to greatness

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm calling it now: the Galaxy S6 is the top contender for Phone of the Year. Why?

Extremely battery efficient; Posh metal and glass chassis; Stellar camera performance; especially in low-light

There's still a bit of bloatware to contend with

For years, we've harped on Samsung to stop building its smartphones with creaky plastic and bloated software. The Galaxy series is Android's flagship brand, but Samsung has rarely offered the best Android experience. Now, in the Galaxy S6, change has finally come.

There is no faster; more capable and feature-rich smartphone on the market today

It's great to see Samsung integrate metal-and-glass into its design; but the result lacks distinctiveness next to the similarly styled iPhone 6

Samsung Galaxy S6 review: Subject Zero

If you are not sure what to think and how to feel about the Samsung Galaxy S6, you came to the right place. We'll do it for you. Here's the deal. You're free to feel any way you like. Impressed. Upset. Confused? Sounds familiar.

Thin (6.8mm) profile; premium dual-glass design reinforced by a metal frame; 5.1" Super AMOLED of QHD (1440 x 2560) resolution; class-leading ~577ppi; Corning Gorilla Glass 4; Exynos 7420 64-bit chipset; octa core processor with four 2.1GHz Cortex-A57's and four 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 cores; Mali-T760...

No water or dust protection; Rather pricey at launch; including really steep memory upgrade premiums; No user-replaceable battery; No microSD slot; No FM radio; No stereo speakers

Samsung Galaxy S6 Review

Your move, Apple. Samsung's Galaxy S6 is a gorgeous reinvention of the long-running flagship phone, sporting a slick metal-and-glass design and a rich feature set that puts it toe-to-toe with -- and sometimes above -- the iPhone 6 .

Terrible. More trouble than it's worth.

I had the Galaxy s4 before this and loved it. Never had an issue with it. The s6, on the other hand, has been nothing but trouble. I've had to replace it at least 4 times due to "manufacturer defect". The first time was because it kept freezing whenever I would open and use certain apps.

Strong screen; hard to break; High quality display; Memory

Battery great at first but quickly deteriorates; Camera quality; Call quality; Running multiple apps slows it down extremely; No removable memory card; No removable battery

With the Galaxy S series losing steam ever since the Galaxy S4, Samsung needed a dramatic change in order to make a comeback in the flagship market, overrun by better looking, and sometimes even better performing devices.

Metal construction brings a better look to an accessible form factor; Excellent Quad HD 5.1-inch screen; Exynos 7420 is proving itself as full replacement to Snapdragons; Loud bottom mounted speaker; 16MP camera performs very well in all but the dimmest lighting conditions; Touchwiz is actually...

No longer waterproof; Lack of expandable storage; Battery not replaceable; Battery life average - just over one day with typical usage; Camera sticks out and can get damaged somewhat easily

Samsung Galaxy S6 review

Back in 2000, Sony released the PlayStation 2, a so-called sixth generation console that boasted 128-bit computing, its "Emotion Engine" processor running at 300Mhz. It had 32MB of RAM and, optionally, a…

Beautiful; bright and accurate QHD display; Much improved build quality over previous Galaxy devices; Light and thin; with a robust frame; Best-in-class Cat-6 LTE network speeds; Superb camera speed and daylight photo quality; Improved low-light capabilities over previous Galaxy devices; Pared-back...

Glass back is a fingerprint magnet and occasionally slippery; Software has some infuriatingly bad design decisions; Limited use for the fingerprint sensor; Volume buttons too high up on left side; Lower battery life than Galaxy S5

Samsung Galaxy S6 review

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is a stellar Android handset that is easily one of the best phones ever made. It's the most expensive-feeling Samsung phone we've used, and it doesn't throw away any of the elements we've come to love - aside from the card slot, which we'll be mourning for a while.
