Samsung Galaxy Note 8 review
Summary: The 8-inch Galaxy Note 8 is reasonably comfortable to hold one-handed in portrait mode to make jottings with its pressure-sensitive pen, and is a delight to use. Still, you'll need to really want the added features that pen input brings to the device, because it's relatively expensive.- Good size for pen-based input
- Fast and capable
- Handy split-screen system for note-taking
- Pressure-sensitive stylus
- Could benefit from a higher-resolution screen
- App bundle reduces the headline 16GB of storage
- Plasticky build quality
- Expensive
The Galaxy Note 8.0 launched way back in February , at the Mobile World Congress as the first 8 inch screened device in the Galaxy Note series. The surprising addition was that the cellular edition of the device could make calls and lets you use it like a phone thanks to the on-device ear piece.
- Best form factor for a Note device
- S-Pen works great
- Good for watching videos
- Good performance
- Plasticky build quality
- Screen not great for consumption up-close
- Battery life is doubtful
- Internal storage is low for the 16 GB version
Powerful, versatile and elegant
l wasn't even thinking about buying a tablet until I saw this fantastic device in John Lewis High Wycombe, and was really taken by its brilliantly colourful screen and innovative stylus pen.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 WiFi and 3G
The Note 510 is a great performer with lacklustre build quality. The iPad mini is better built and has a larger apps ecosystem. The Galaxy Note 510 on the other hand has voice-calling, a better display, the S Pen functionality, expandable storage, multi-window capabilities and the Android OS with...- Display has good viewing angles
- Solid battery life
- Multi-window is handy
- S Pen utilities
- Build quality isn't the best
- Too big to hold to your ear for calls
This is the device I have wanted for years
My work involves a mixture of meetings, reviewing academic journal articles and various kinds of reports and I've been looking for a single device that I can use for this kind of work, and also do email, and read stuff on the web. This device is it.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0
Our previous review of the larger 10.1" Samsung Galaxy Note found a tablet that offered high specifications and excellent features, particularly in the form of multi-tasking and the S-Pen stylus, at a competitive price.- Excellent
- fast performance
- Superb S Pen stylus
- Split screen multitasking
- IR emitter
- Expensive compared to competition
- Build quality could be better
- Previous gen screen resolution
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 review
Updated: This 8in marvel boasts great performance and usable stylus, but is it worth more than an iPad mini?- Excellent size
- Lots of the great stylus-based features
- Strong performance
- Better than average battery life
- 3G edition allows you to make calls
- Plastic build
- No 4G option
- Display could be better
- Expensive compared to similarly specced Wi-Fi devices (Nexus 7
- iPad Mini
- Asus Padfone 2)

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 N5100 (WiFi+3G+16GB)
The product 5100 from samsung is little bit highly priced. It must come under 20 -15 k... the better product at such price could be note 10.1 N8000. its screen size is bettr with great clarity. The upgrade related to 10.1 makes it able hv all the new features that todays tab have like reading mode.- Have reading mode
- Have quadcore processor for better performance
- S pen features are too good
- Display is simply superb
- It does not have flash for camera
- Dont hav amoled screen
- Price is little bit high
Love it
Finally Samsung made a tab that's as smooth as an ipad, but with the flexibility and freedom of android. It works just like their galaxy S phones. So far I'm very happy with it.
