Samsung Galaxy Note 8 review
The Note range remains a solid favourite of ours. The Note 10.1 and Note II are devices we adore. The Note 8 is a solid performer too, but we can't help think it's stuck in the middle of two giants.- Stylish
- a decent size
- S Pen is still a great tool
- brilliant for video
- Quite expensive
- screen resolution a disapointment
Fantastic tablet, especially for artists
This tablet is amazing. It's fast, the screen is sharp and beautiful and the S Pen really adds a lot to the tablet-using experience. The 8 inch size is also perfect and you may find that it is even more comfortable using than a typical 10 inch tablet.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Review
Samsung introduced the original Galaxy Tab in late 2010 and Samsung's line-up of Galaxy-branded products has simply exploded since then. Even for those who avidly follow consumer technology, it's getting tough to track.- Blazing fast in benchmarks
- S Pen and display are very responsive
- Great for note taking / annotation
- Can be tough to use one-handed
- Plastics are underwhelming
- WatchON app incomplete
- Expensive
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0
An 8-inch tablet version of the super-popular Samsung Galaxy Note 2 smartphone.- Stylus works well
- Thin and light
- Pretty powerful
- Imperfect build and feel
- Expensive
- No camera flash
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Review
The Note 8.0 is one of the best Android tablets on the market, but it's difficult to recommend over the cheaper and in many ways superior iPad mini, based on the latter's app selection alone.- - Fast
- stable and phone app friendly
- - Screen is relatively sharp with good viewing angles
- - S Pen is hugely improved over previous generations
- - Battery life is sufficient for most use cases
- - Preloaded pen-centric apps are useful
- - Build quality leaves a lot to be desired
- - Strange array of hardware buttons biases portrait mode
- - Expensive
- - Limited selection of tablet apps
- - Rear camera is grainy and unnecessary
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Review
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is a beautiful little tablet, there's no doubt about it. It has a nice screen, great battery life, and some very unique features. Unfortunately, it's also a relatively expensive tablet.- Excellent battery life
- Useful multitasking controls
- Stylus is very accurate and handy for note taking
- Very expensive compared to alternatives
- Poor camera quality
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 review
Samsung has further expanded its line-up of stylus-equipped devices with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. It sits between the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 – a giant smartphone - and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 – a full-sized tablet.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Review
Samsung's Galaxy Note range has evidently proved popular, given the rate Samsung is smashing out these stylish stylus devices. For the uninitiated, Galaxy Notes have two things in common.- S Pen
- Great size for one-handed use
- Bright, colourful screen
- Powerful multi-tasking
- Display not as sharp as some rivals
- Average media battery life
Upgraded from (T-Mobile) SamTab7 to Note 8.0!
I used SamTab7 since 2010 and upgrading from T-Mobile 3G SamTab7 to SamNoteTab. that's it. See picture of below, as a picture is worth thousand words!- Super-Screen size
- 2GB RAM
- On-board memory and Preloaded apps
