Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8
Once upon a time, in the dawn of the smartphone era, around 2010, a 3.5-inch device was considered to be the ideal size for a smartphone and there were talks of what the Dell Streak could and couldn't do as the next-gen smartphone.
Pros:
- Good camera
- Smooth interface
- Slew of Samsung preloaded apps
Cons:
- Lacklustre display
- Low performance when compared to other phones in the same price range
- Lags during heavy gaming

It seems as if Samsung is on a quest to offer a smartphone in just about every size. While many don't like big phones like the Note 2, Samsung decided to go even further with the Galaxy Mega 5.8, the little brother of the Galaxy Mega 6.3, which is easily one of the largest smartphones on the market.

The Galaxy series from Samsung doesn't look like it will rest or retire any soon. Samsung has been spewing out a new Galaxy variant into the market almost every month to please every possible user. From simple small screen smartphones to king-sized phones and tablets, there's one for everyone.

good phone....but priced high
Dis is a great phone. But the problem is with its performance. It has a dual core processor which is way too low and the phone hangs when I try to multitask. Games run fair.....not very good....because of the resolution of the screen. It is quite low.

Looked upon in isolation, the Galaxy Mega 5.8 is a capable device , thanks mainly to its large screen and dual-SIM capabilities. Priced at Rs 25,100 (~ $422 ), it isn't too pricey either. Sure, it's a bit of a mixed bag , and doesn't really have any headlining feature to shout about.

"Oh my, that's so big", she gushed. Well, that's one of the reactions you're likely to evoke when you flash a Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 in front of a lady. Like it or not, when it comes to matters of size, the smartphone world is now leaning towards the ones endowed with large screens.

- Ho-hum design

- no USB On-The-Go support

Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 review: Medium extra large
Screen size. Just like last year was the year of the multi-core processor, 2013 is surely the year of the big screen. There was a time when 5 inches of diagonal were considered overkill, but with just about every major brand now flaunting a fullHD five-incher, it seems the only way to go is up.
