This is a world first for Samsung
Their first Android Go phone, which is the "lite" version of Google's operating system. This might not be the premium Google OS but it works just fine in this entry-level smartphone, thanks to some smart modifications.
Happy apps
Android Go has modified Google apps including Maps, Files, and YouTube which can now be used on 1 GB of RAM or less. The phone also features storage and memory management systems which give a really good level of performance for such an affordable phone. Storage is further enhanced by being able to install apps directly onto a microSD card.
Core, it's fast
The Galaxy J2 Core's Android Go is no slouch as an operating system. It can open apps 15% faster, giving the overall performance a real boost.
Sharp shots
For an entry level phone, the picture quality delivered by the 5 MP front camera and 8 MP rear camera (with flash) is clear and detailed, with the sort of colour range you expect from Samsung.
A better than good processor
To reduce power consumption (by up to 30%) and increase performance (by up to 70%), Samsung use the Exynos 7570 processor, regarded the equal of many better-known processors within the smartphone market. Again, for an entry level phone, the features you get are surprising but that is to be expected to some extent when you consider this is part of the renowned Galaxy range.
