Samsung EX2F review
Premium compacts – meaning feature-festooned pocket models with plenty of manual controls, a high quality build and equally high price tag – are on the rise in popularity in austere times.
Pros:
- Solid-feel metal build
- tilting and swivelling high contrast AMOLED back screen
- plenty of manual control
- fast aperture lens allows for low light shooting and creative shallow depth of field effects
Cons:
- Bright lens can overexpose brighter daylight scenes
- costs as much as starter DSLR or CSC which could offer better overall results
- and of a similar size to the smaller CSCs like the Nikon J2

Samsung EX2F Digital Camera Review
When Sony introduced the Cyber-shot RX100 earlier this year, it was so far ahead of the competition that much of the existing market was instantly invalidated. It was, and still is, the high-end compact for discerning photographers who need portability, and any new review necessitates a comparison.
Pros:
- Good depth of field for a compact
- Convenient swiveling LCD
Cons:
- Handling can be tricky
- Drastic oversharpening is unnecessary

Samsung's wide-aperture compact is a sturdy, serious competitor.

Best Camera in it's Class. PERIOD.
Let me preface this by saying I've been shooting for over 25 years now and have pretty particular needs in my gear. I wanted a compact with a decent "normal" zoom range, good IQ, and usable ISO up to 400/800.

Your reviewer should look up the use of a neutral density filter. It has nothing to do with getting a better 'balance' of exposure. Any fule can see that the side of the pic with the better clouds is simply darker. ND filters are used so you can shoot the same scene with a larger aperture.

Samsung EX2F review
Samsung's current fascination with Wi-Fi will please some and leave others shrugging their shoulders. As it stands the EX2F's Wi-Fi feature is okay, it's certainly something that similar competitors don't offer, but it does stick a knife in the battery life.
Pros:
- f/1.4-2.7 maximum aperture
- vari-angle LCD screen
- raw file capture
- good quality images
Cons:
- Inconsistent autofocus particularly with close-up focus
- Wi-Fi kills battery life
- high ISO image quality
- limited zoom range
- body finish chips easily
