Samsung Ativ S review
Samsung was the first manufacturer to officially announce a Windows Phone 8 device, but has since been suspiciously quiet about its plans. Plagued by delays and a missed launch period with HTC and Nokia, Samsung's carrier deals, release dates, and exact pricing haven't been forthcoming.
Pros:
- Lightweight and slim
- Large display
- Physical Windows key
Cons:
- Samsung's additional software
- Speaker is tinny
- Windows Phone app ecosystem

Samsung ATIV S Review
Samsung's ATIV S was the first Windows Phone 8 device to be announced. Since then the hype for Microsoft's overhauled mobile OS has subsided, but the battle rages on. Apps are beginning to be updated; users are starting to take notice.

Review Samsung ATIV S Smartphone
A new star in the Windows sky. Samsung offers a direct competitor to the HTC 8X and the Nokia Lumia 920 with the ATIV S; all three devices run Windows Phone 8. Where are the small but subtle differences and can it ascend to the Windows Phone 8 throne? The triumvirate is now complete.
Pros:
- Good build quality and low weight
- HD Super AMOLED Display
- Completely smooth operating system
- High quality camera
- Removable battery
- Storage extension via micro SD card
- Long battery runtime
- The main camera produces very good pictures and can replace less expensive digital cameras.
Cons:
- Retail price: 549 Euros
- Small scope of delivery
- The app variety is still small - we are spoiled by the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

Pros:
- Inexpensive price point
- Smooth performance
- Includes a microSD card slot
Cons:
- Bland design
- No noteworthy exclusive apps

Samsung Ativ Odyssey (Verizon Wireless)
Windows Phone 8 hasn't exactly transformed the smartphone space, and the Samsung Ativ Odyssey for Verizon Wireless probably won't change that. The $49.99 Ativ Odyssey is Samsung's first U.S. smartphone to run Windows 8, so it's surprising that it's a generic, middle-of-the-road handset.
Pros:
- Very good call quality
- World phone.
Cons:
- Uninspired design
- Unimpressive display.

Samsung ATIV Odyssey
The phone has dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC, a GPS that works with Bing Maps, VZNavigator and even Nokia Drive Beta. There's a front video chat camera that works fine with Skype and an average quality 5MP rear camera with LED flash. The phone has a removable battery (a plus vs.

After some delays, in November 2012 Samsung launched the ATIV S. This is the company's premium Windows 8 smart phone. With its big display and brightly coloured Windows Tiles it will surely be a force to be reckoned with in the coming months.
Pros:
- - Looks good
- - Replaceable Battery
Cons:
- - No 4G
- - Plastic build
