Samsung 860 PRO 2TB SSD review

So who would buy an 860 EVO over the PRO or vice versa Well, that depends on your workload, endurance needs and wallet size I guess. Performance wise really you are not going to notice a difference between the two, However, if you want really excellent endurance, hey the TBW values are through the...

So far so good.

Be careful when you buy this product. You need to also buy a M.2 USB adapter to transfer your old data. Also the Samsung migration software which you have to download. did not work for me despite multiple attempts. I ultimately had to buy Paragons HD Manager to clone my old data to the new drive.

Perfect addition to my PC

Samsung produces high quality SSDs like the 860 EVO and I highly recommend this SSD for the price and the long lifespan. The installation is easy and requires only 3 minutes of work. Just to let you know in advance, you will also need a SATA III cable to connect this to your motherboard.

My desktop PC never booted and responded so fast. The M2 module was extremely easy to install and was immediately recognized by the system. Installing Windows 10 on it, as well as all other software was a breeze.

Lightweight; easy to install

Samsung 860 Evo review 250GB: The best SATA SSD you can buy

Best of all, the 860 Evo isn't some overpriced luxury: the cost per gigabyte is perfectly reasonable for a 2.5in SSD of this calibre, at 32.8p for 250GB, 30.4p for 500GB, 29.6p for 1TB, 30.8p for 2TB and 31.3p for 4TB.

Exceptionally fast; Long lifespan; Reasonable price

Modest sequential write speed increase

Samsung 860 Evo review

At close to three times the speed of spinning rust the SATA SSD also uses less power, is lighter, silent, and connects using a port that all desktop systems come with as standard.

After Microsoft Window's 1804 (Spring) forced update of Windows 10 Home (AVOID!!!), my old standard disk started a slow death. Windows files were fragmented and not only did it fail to repair itself, it seemed to be making everything worse, until the laptop would not boot at all following a CHKDSK.
