This product is a lot of money for a lot of rubbish. The internet is very hard to use along with the keypad. You can hardly use documents, internet, or much to be honest. My pictures and videos broke and I can't access them at all. The only thing I found good about this laptop was games.

Not impressed overall...

I bought the ATIV because I wanted something to take on my 2 week study trip that would be smaller than my laptop but still be full of features. My plan was to use it to play movies, take notes, write emails, and other basic functions. I was underwhelmed by the Samsung as a whole.

Samsung's Ativ Smart PC 500T is a decent Windows 8-bsed hybrid laptop that's suitable for basic operations. It can be used equally well as a tablet or laptop, and it has a long battery life. We just wish it had a better storage capacity for the price. Samsung's Ativ Smart PC 500T (XE500T1C-A01AU) is an 11.6in, Windows 8-based hybrid laptop that's similar in form and function to the ASUS VivoTab 810 and HP Envy X2 hybrid models we've already reviewed. It's an Intel Atom-based tablet that can be easily mounted on a keyboard dock and used as a traditional laptop and its performance is suitable for most Web browsing and document-creation tasks, but it can't handle tougher tasks. The style of the Ativ 500T is basic, the colour elegant and the overall usability decent, however, we think its base could be a little more sturdy.

Great hybrid tablet. Good value for mobile productivity and light gaming

I bought this because I was looking for thin/light tablet to replace my current ipad/laptop combo. I needed a tablet with full Windows 8 so that I could run older programs and games.

Will require mind bending

The evaluation has more to do with the new Windows 8 rather than the Samsung Ativ itself. The device is very well designed, very light, the colors on screen are beautiful, the screen responds quickly. The only negative I've seen so far is that writing tends to get blurred when scrolling.
