Good deal
The headphone amp in the mic does weird things to the audio that goes through it. Makes it dark and attenuates it some. Makes the in game audio sound robotic sort of... It could just be the USB lag I switched back to my motherboard audio out.

"Good starting point"
It does come with a small manual, and you don't have to use Sonar if you don't want to it just comes with it, it is a perfect match for Garage Band on a mac too. Or you can use it in any of the DAW's that you want just like it is a regular microphone.

Condenser microphone
For podcasting, the G-Track suffers the same problem with almost any condenser microphone of being too sensitive, picking up all sorts of background noise. Best to go with a quality dynamic microphone with an additional USB interface.
