This is my first sealed subwoofer and I think I'm set on them. Ported ones always have bloomy mid-bass for the BIG BOOM effect, but this sealed compact 12" subwoofer (yes it's both compact and 12") is much more controlled and has much more noticeable sub-bass.

SVS was once famed for making subwoofers only for lonely nerds who could get away with standing a bass tube bigger than their girlfriend in the corner of the room. Mostly because they didn't have a girlfriend.
