I've used this mic a number of times now. It works very well and has given me no problems.
This is my first Rode mic (aside from the videomic) and I'm really happy with it so far. I'm using it in conjunction with the Tascam DR-40 for low-budget feature films. I have no complaints so far! Clear audio, low impedance. I'll be stepping up to NTG3 soon, but this is a great mic for the money.
So, to conclude: I would heartily recommend anyone adding this mic to their collection, its not expensive and the quality of the recording justifies the outlay instantly. If you're used to taking out your favourite large diaphragm condenser whenever you consider a voice recording.. think again!
Easy to use and reliable
Durable; Great Sound Quality; Lightweight
Great mic for someone on budget. you can achieve professional results.
Pros: Affordable broadcast quality shotgun mic. Well built too. Cons: Definitely needs a 'deadcat' or better still a 'blimp' housing when used outdoors in windy conditions. In fairness, all mics do!
I shot a video, used this shotgun mic right over our heads, didn't really pick up that much sound.
Easy To Use; Lightweight
Poor Sound Quality; Pricey / Poor Value
Condenser microphone canon hypercardiode, prvu for taking his perch in the shooting. It possde a compartment for a cell to self LR6 supplying phantom power supply to be connected in small camcorders that do not provide. It possde a low cut but I did not try prfre I play with a post-prod.
I've been using this mic for video productions for the last 4 months. I use it both with a Zoom HN1 or directly into a video camera that has XLR inputs. The audio quality is awesome and I hardly ever have to to do post production work to remove unwanted background noise.
