Ricoh CX5

Ricoh continues to add incremental updates to its CX camera series, which seems to get an update every 6 months. The CX5 is the latest in the series, and is almost identical in body shape, button layout and configuration to the CX4 .
Pros:
  • Quick, effective AF
  • Excellent macro performance
  • Eye-Fi compatibility
  • Now has HDMI out
Cons:
  • No RAW
  • No manual controls
  • ISO performance over 200 needs work
  • Design flaws mean the camera slips out of hand easily

Pros:
  • Pleasant
  • customisable interface
  • High-quality metal body
  • Instant shutter release modes
  • Clear
  • high-def LCD
Cons:
  • Inconsistent lens performance
  • Other models handle low light better
  • Noisy zoom and focusing
  • No optical zoom in video mode and low-quality sound recorded
