Very Impressed

I wanted a decent gaming mouse, but was not willing to take a chance on a cordless one. After a few hours of research and reading reviews I decided to buy the Razer Imperator. I must say this is the first gaming mouse I have bought, but I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Razer Imperator

Razer are one of those big companies that have been in the gaming peripheral market for quite a long stretch, so it's always with some excitement that we crack open a box of one of their latest products.
Pros:
  • Looks great
  • Very comfortable
  • Incredibly sensitive DPI
  • Very accurate
  • Excellent software
Cons:
  • Bit expensive for some
  • Macros are limited to certain number of keys

Razer Imperator 2012

The Razer Imperator 2012 gaming mouse-set to launch in 2011, despite its name-is a new and improved version of the original Imperator mouse.
Pros:
  • Thumb buttons can be moved backwards and forwards
  • Adjustable lift-off tracking distance
  • Braided cable
  • comfortable design
  • backlighting can be switched off
  • Driver with plenty of functions: macros
  • frequency (125 to 1000 Hz)
  • etc
  • Very light
  • pleasant to handle
  • good glide
Cons:
  • Our test model couldn't reach the 5 metres per second promised
  • The stepped scroll wheel isn't as flexible as the adjustable scroll wheel in the Logitech G500
  • Heavy CPU use at 500 and 1000 Hz
  • Sensitivity: 6400 dpi is pure marketing

Great gaming mouse

Let me start by saying this is my first "gaming" mouse. I've always used stock mice that came with my computers until I finally decided to buy this mouse from Razer. The first thing I noticed was the comfort. Using it for a long period of time didn't leave my hand feeling tired like some other mice.

RAZER Imperator Black Wired Laser Ergonomic Gaming Mouse

Coming off a standard optical mouse, this issue is super. I can't think how precise the tracking is. The mouse arrow no longer jitters when moving slowly. The feel is superb, the wheel feels solid. If anything, the application does have a small finding out curve.

Lasted less than 2 years

Looks and feels great, works well, while it lasts. 2 stars because it broke down after less than 2 years of use. Just came out of warranty, too. Not recommended at all, at this price.

Ergonomics is ok but not that great. Unless your hands are very big

I have been using this for about a month. Ergonomics is ok but not that great. Unless your hands are very big, you will find it a bit difficult to get to the no. 9 button on left side of the mouse.
