Test R.U.S.E

RUSE Review

R.U.S.E. is not a complex game as far as RTS titles go. In fact, it is easily outshined in the unit management and depth arena by the recently released StarCraft 2 . R.U.S.E. boils things down managing only Supply Depots, which keep cash flowing to your base allowing you to build new units.

Streamlined RTS gameplay; Campaign tutorial is comprehensive; R.U.S.E.

Controls sometimes frustrate; Not granular enough for hardcore wargamers

R.U.S.E.

The game performs well, letting you zoom in and out with ease without any noticeable slowdown, though it would seem that some compromises have been made to accommodate the overall scope. Neither the terrain nor the units are all that detailed when viewed at relatively close distances.

Ruses provide a nifty and original strategic element; Slick tabletop interface makes it easy to stay organized; Recon; ambushes; and other elements make for lots of flexibility; Online and skirmish matches are really fun

Bland story characterized by poor cutscenes and inferior voice acting; Campaign is boring and badly paced

R.U.S.E

R.U.S.E. is the kind of game a real-time strategist might enjoy and be bored of at the same time. It's a game that relies on strategy and thinking ahead, rather than fast reflexes and actions-per-minute, but it manages to create problems for itself, at least on the consoles, due to the limitations...

Easy camera system; wide variety of ruses to use; good amount of strategic depth beyond throwing units at each other

Dull single player campaign; problems differentiating units from terrain; lack of granularity in unit selection; problems with controls

A breath of fresh air in the RTS genre. When I saw the first promo […]

+ Easily accessible; + Smooth controls; + Ruses add a whole new layer

Steep learning curve; Throwaway story

R.U.S.E.

There are strategy games that push the envelope more than R.U.S.E. does, there's no denying that, but Ubisoft's latest offering is still an enjoyable game. We think ultimately there's going to be less 'subterfuge' and out-manoeuvring then the developers hope for, given this titles pre-disposition...

Deep war game requires brain as well as (moderate) brawn.

Parents need to know that R.U.S.E. is a WWII combat game, but that it is not as intense as more graphic and realistic modern-day military shooters, such as games in the popular Call of Duty franchise.

R.U.S.E.

There's 385 for campaign I believe, about 400 for online, and the rest are split between battles and operations. In summary, this is a good game. At its core it is a wartime RTS, and if you're not a fan of that sort of game there is nothing really to draw people in, but definitely worth a rent for...

R.U.S.E. Review

" R.U.S.E. " doesn't quite live up to my own personal expectations. Most of my annoyance comes from the annoying menu which skips around with the slightest touch, but the slowdown, dodgy animation and lack of particularly thrilling action at the lowest level all hurt the game to an extent.

RUSE

RUSE is something different, which is no guarantee that you will like it, but give it a chance and the depth and strategy will soon draw you in. RUSE is an RTS that works, and one that works well. Go for it soldier.
