Polar M600

If you're in the market for an excellent running watch with a heart rate monitor that also counts steps and has some smartwatch capabilities, the Polar A360 and the Garmin Vivoactive HR are much better options.

High-quality build; Built-in optical heart rate monitor; Runs modified version of Android Wear; Waterproof; Works with both Android and iOS devices

Bulky; Short battery life; Occasionally high heart rate readings in testing; Can't set a custom activity goal

Polar M600 Review: Better Smartwatch Than Running Watch

Overall, the Polar M600 looks and behaves more like a smartwatch and less like a running watch. The integration with Android Wear is slick, and Polar Flow is a clean and easy-to-use app, but the watch falls short of expectations once you start running.

Smartwatch notifications; Accurate GPS; heart rate monitor; Easy-to-use Polar Flow app

Bulky; Disappointing activity features; Short battery life

Polar M600

There's no shortage of Android Wear watches to choose from. Companies including Huawei, LG, Casio, and Fossil all have smartwatches that run on Google's wearable operating system, and all of them can use Google Fit's activity tracking.

Bold; bright touchscreen display; Onboard GPS and space for local music; Rated IPX8 so you can swim with it; Android Wear will add useful features and notifications for those connected to an Android smartphone

Bulky design makes it hard to wear all day; Heart rate monitor can be slow to catch up to high pulse rates; Expensive for what it offers; Not worth the money for iPhone users when they can get the comparable Apple Watch Series 2 instead

Throughout the past few years, we've had to choose one or the other – fitness trackers or smartwatches . Dedicated fitness trackers might be better at tracking your daily activity and heart rate, but they normally lack things like voice commands and proper notification support – two features...

Accurate activity and GPS tracking IPX8 water resistance Two-day battery life Plenty of third-party fitness apps (thanks to Android Wear

Large; bulky design Display is a tad small compared to the overall footprint Software can be buggy at times Should be ~$100 cheaper

Polar M600 review

The market for wrist worn wearables has broken itself down into three segments – smartwatches, activity trackers, and hardcore exercise devices. To succeed in any one of these segments generally means compromises in the areas and features that may make for a winner in another segment.

The Polar M600 is a near-perfect combination of smartwatch and fitness tracker, blending both worlds into a true multi-functional device that is easy on the eyes and easy to use.

Review of the Polar M600 GPS Smart Sports Watch

If you're serious about athletics, the Polar M600 is hands-down the best smartwatch on the market for you. Even if you're just a user who might only go for a run every few days, the easy to use training software will help you develop an actual training program and start working towards new goals.

Perfect but kinda big.

My husband that absolutely refuses to go Apple loves this thing! It's also really big I can't imagine a woman wearing it. The profile is very large. My husband can't wear it to sleep in like he did his fit bit.

Interior box pre-opened

Though the watch seems to be working for now, I am a bit wary of it. Upon opening the outer shipping box I found the inner box ripped on all sides of the clear plastic cover, that displays the watch in the store, where it had been ripped off of the box and the watch seemingly having been removed and...

Polar M600

For an Android Wear smartwatch with fitness chops, you can currently do no better than Polar's M600. It offers the most intuitive third-party integration with Google's wrist-based OS we've seen yet, and the comprehensive set of workout options should be exactly what most generalist gym visitors are...

Built-in GPS; Robust fitness tracking; Waterproof

Screen shows scan lines; Not the best-looking smartwatch; Poor battery life on iOS
