Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild area

Solid and definitely has an audience. There could be some hard-to-ignore faults, but the experience is fun.

Yeah, but do Dubwool like dubstep - Pokémon Sword and Shield Review

There really is something undeniably charming about Pokémon Sword and Shield. While the plot itself is rather short, these games do a decent job of shaking up some of the tried-and-true mechanics in all the right ways.

The Wild Area; an open-world area with dynamic weather; Tons of diverse Pokémon to encounter throughout the game; Team up with other players in Max Raid battles; Trading and battling without having to exchange friend codes; Shakes up the gym challenge/Pokémon champion system

No National Dex; No touch screen controls; Dropped frames; especially when online in the Wild Area; Instancing issues with lobbies for Max Raid battles

Pokemon Shield Review – Not Quite The Very Best

Tie those sneakers and hug your mum goodbye because adventure awaits in the Galar region! Yes, Pokemon is back in full swing in Sword and Shield with a number of new features that enhance and streamline the core gameplay, despite its rather public outlash at the lack of a national Pokedex.

Immersive Features; Pokemon In The Wild; Expansive Wild Areas; More Strategic Gameplay

Shoe-horned British Dialogue; Difficulty Drops Mid-Game; Pokemon Camp Is Boring

Pokemon Shield - Nintendo Switch

Very short, bland and low quality Pokemon game. It is definitely not worth $60. It uses graphics from the 3DS and has many bugs in gameplay, it can even fry your Switch and all other games save files. It only has about 40% of existing Pokemon available.

A great buy

It was a gift for my son during lockdown and it made him so happy. He has lived playing it and I loved the great price.

Fun in the open world!

First Main Series Game on Switch is a great beginning. Pokemon in the open world are a fun twist.

The game which I brought was very good.

My review from my harvy norman experience was very good I came in and within 5 minutes I had my click and collect. I found the staff very friendly and they helped me to find directions to certain areas.

Amazing game. As expected for Pokemon.

Great - Click and Collect was perfect. Game took many existing features and built on them. Plenty of hours to spend in this title.

Enjoyable but Underwhelming

I enjoyed my time with Shield, but having played every single mainline Pokémon game before it I was left feeling a slight sense of emptiness. It is a well made game don't get me wrong but it just didn't have the same charm as its predeccessors. Furthermore, the art style in quite unimaginative, I expected something more in line with the newest entry to the mystery dungeon subseries, which looks beautiful. However, I did enjoy exploring the Galar region and it was brilliant to see the inspiration it drew from the scenery of Great Britain. All in all, it was a good gaming expeirence but a lackluster Pokémon adventure, perhaps a good game for series newcomers, but won't strike a chord with long-term fans.
