Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 Review: Good Noise Cancellation for Half the Price of Bose

Despite a few performance bugs, the Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 provides dynamic sound and modest noise cancellation at a great price.

Loud; warm sound; Dependable noise cancellation; Lightweight; sturdy design; Companion app with useful features; Strong battery life

Buggy performance; No motion or touch controls; Lacks premium appearance of competitive models

Quality sound and great wireless distance!

I am so glad I chose the wireless over the ear headset. They are lightweight and comfy and provide high quality sound for both movies and music. The signal strength of the Bluetooth is impressive, as well as the internal rechargeable battery.

Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 review

That said, if you don't want to spend $200 (£230, AU$250) on a set of wireless headphones but still want active noise cancellation (ANC), the all-new Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 are an excellent choice.

Excellent build quality; Warm; balanced sound; Reliable wireless connection

Average ANC; Attracts dust; Hiss when music isn't playing

The right pair of noise cancelling headphones can be satisfying to behold, but such delights rarely come cheap.

Great price; Clean design

Average noise-cancelling; Not as compact as the alternatives

Plantronics BackBeat Go 810

When you consider the surprisingly above-average noise cancellation, the Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 headphones are a solid value for $150. If you want the best in ANC, however, you'll need to spend quite a bit more.

Powerful audio performance with intense bass depth; Comfortable over-ear fit; Easy-to-operate on-ear controls

Bass-heavy sound signature not for everyone; EQ modes are limited; ANC adds some hiss

Plantronics Backbeat Go 810 review: The bad quirks don't outweigh the good

Great, except when they're bad

Great battery life; Decent ANC; Great Bluetooth connection; Good; intuitive playback controls

Build quality is squeaky; Doesn't fold at the hinges; Video playback sometimes off-sync; Bass notes heavily emphasized; Micro-USB charging port

Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 Headphones Review

Couple months back we tackled Plantronics first entry into truly wireless earbuds and a pair of around the neck headphones. This time we will be looking at the BackBeat Go 810. This isn't Plantronics first time at over the ear musical cans, but it is at this price point and this design.

Plantronics BackBeat Go 410 and 810 review: Active noise cancelation at more affordable prices

Along with the three BackBeat Fit models that I reviewed a few days ago, Plantronics announced on Monday two new Go headsets: the in-ear Go 410 and the over-ear Go 810. The governing idea behind the two units is to bring wireless noise cancelation to the masses at a more affordable price.
