After a number of steam irons we thought we try this one which is priced lower than our previous purchases and hope it lasts longer as the others have not. The initial experience has been great and will see in few months

Purchased the Philips GC2040-GC2049 series from my local Sainsbury store about 6 weeks ago, rather hurriedly to replace my non-heating Philips Mistral which I'd had for years and it was brilliant. Thought I was doing the right thing by replacing it with another Philips - how wrong was I.

1) iron drags across fabrics

I purchased his iron because I was looking for a cheap product that would work well, because after all, to me a iron is a very simple device.

Best you can get. Only thing disappointed me that it has 16amp power plug. Which didn't fit in all fixture. Else performance wise its Awesome.

Product was not packed properly inside the box. Their should be thermocol or bubble packing on iron to prevent from any internal damage.

I bought this to replace a very cheap generic iron, and I'm actually enjoying ironing again. This iron is easy to use and does the job very well.

I posted a review weeks ago but was never posted. Very disappointing!
