Persona 5 Royal is the definitive version of the modern classic JRPG, merging new elements that fit naturally but not quite fixing some of its most noticeable flaws.

New characters feel like they have always belonged in the story; Tons of quality of life updates and small tweaks vastly improve the experience; Despite its length, it never feels like a chore; Characters are as great and memorable as ever; You can finally use the share button to take screenshots and capture footage;

Tone of dialogue and story still carry the same conservatism from Persona 5; Grappling hook could have further improved some of the most tedious palaces;

As of writing this I currently have 105 hours clocked on this version with another 100 on the original version of the game. With that being said, I plan to sink another whole play through again, that should give you an idea of how much bang for your buck you get with Persona. The story is amazing, the gameplay is amazing (if you like turned based combat) The many systems and mini games/side missions are deep and meaningful and impact your game heavily. If you like turned based games and monster collection you must play this. It may just be my favourite game of all time.

Finally pulled the trigger on buying Royal, after playing Persona 5 Original many times. And as usual, Atlus have surprised and pleased me with no just extra content included, but changes to existing content that objectively improves gameplay and story. Absolutely the preferred version for newcomers, while still having quality of life improvements and extra gameplay and story content for those returning. If you're curious and have never played the original, or you played the original and loved it, absolutely get this version.

I bought this as a present for my partner, we had both played Persona5, and we're keen to see the remake, and ee were not disappointed! Atlus have done an amazing job on refreshing the graphics, tweaking the storyline just enough so it feels new yet somewhat familiar, and the new battle dynamics are absolutely on point. I ordered this online as click and collect, and order fulfillment and notifications were quick and efficient, and pickup was as easy as 1, 2, 3.

If you are a fan of JRPG, just try this. You will be blown away.
