Amazing Depth of Field

For years I have documented my sons acting group with video and photos. Using the 14-140 I shot their most recent show and was pleased to note the exceptional depth of field in the pictures of actors on the stage--both close and distant actors were clear and easily recognizable in the 4x6s I...

I have been slowly dipping my toe in to the Micro 4/3 world. I started small, with a Lumix DMC-GM1 and 12-32 kit lens. The 14-140 is a very nice walking around lens that has a lot of versatility at the telephoto end in a tiny package (compared to my full frame Nikon).

Particularly sharp at exposure of sample picture.

Purchased the international version directly from Japan, and wanted to include how particularly sharp this lens is in the sample pic, unedited and ungraded. Settings were: 46mm, iso 400, 6 second f5.6.

Excellent bit of kit

Excellent bit of kit, light, good quality & so far brilliant results. This lens means 1 camera & 1 lens, ideal for outdoors, hiking etc without a lot of clutter to carry.

Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-140mm F3.5-5.6 ASPH. Power OIS

The Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-140mm F3.5-5.6 ASPH. Power OIS is one of the better all-in-one zoom lenses we've seen for any camera system. It keeps distortion under control, and while it shows some of the edge performance issues that many zooms do, image quality is acceptable throughout the range.

Optically stabilized; 10x zoom range; Very little distortion; Good center sharpness through range; Quiet, snappy focus motor

Some edge and telephoto sharpness issues; Pricey

EUROPEAN COMPACT SYSTEM ZOOM LENS

With this update of the LUMIX G Vario 14-140mm F4.0-5.8 ASPH Power O.I.S., Panasonic offers a much smaller and lighter version of its kit lens, which has a smooth and silent operation mode and looks perfect fitted to the GH3 and G6 LUMIX cameras.

REVIEW: Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens Review

This new 10x zoom lens for Micro Four Thirds system cameras, is an update to the existing lens, which is essentially the same specification, except that this lens has a marginally faster aperture throughout the zoom range.

Panasonic Lumix G 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens Review

Gary Wolstenholme reviews the new, more compact, Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 telephoto zoom lens.

Consistently good sharpness throughout the zoom range; Low distortion and falloff; Effective stabiliser; Compact and lightweight; Good build quality

CA levels may be high enough to cause concern for some; Maybe a tad expensive (but probably worth it!

No Good for Video

I've had this lens for a couple of weeks. It suffers from bad jitters while recording video. I'm also concerned with sending it in for service based on reviews I've seen online for Panasonic's UD repair facility.

Compact; Convenient

Did not meet expectations; Poor quality

Crystal Clear

Great lens nice, clear, bright and natural colours . Works well with the DMC range of cameras. Filter effects really comes into its own. This lens is much preferred than its auto zoom equivalent.
