20 X zoom, the size and reliable auto mode make it a great camera for her.

My wife uses it, more and more feature on each new model, now I have to learn about these appealing features and explain, like GPS tagging, or NFC. I'm used to images from larger sensor camera and I can see the picture quality difference.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ40

For the price of Rs. 25,990, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ40 makes a compelling argument as a good purchase. Do we like it? Yes. Is it perfect? No. All in all, it's a really fast travel zoom and we do recommend you get yourself one if you're in the market to buy.
Pros:

  • Lots of video frame rate options
  • Stereo microphones
Cons:
  • Changing aperture and shutter speed is awkward
  • Poorly designed menus
  • Lens has a slow aperture
  • Slightly pricier than cameras in its league
