Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ40 review
Image quality is normally our number one priority when we review cameras, but last year's Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 was an exception to the rule. Its image quality was perfectly respectable, with sharp focus from its 20x zoom lens and well-judged automatic exposures, but its sensor produced more...

Large number of features is a very little package
I'm not new to the Lumix brand (this is my third), so I wasn't shocked at all when I unlocked more and more of the features that I hadn't had in a compact point and shoot camera before. The first thing you will notice is the build quality. It is a very solid (but not heavy) camera.
Pros:
- Compact
- Easy to use
- Exceeded expectations
- Convenient
Cons:
- Expensive

Panasonic Lumix - you can't go wrong!
You can't go wrong with this Panasonic Lumix camera, you can take crisp, clear shots of raindrops reflecting what is behind them from 1/4 inch away to clear, bright detailed photos of the moon.

Camera works great!
I bought this camera to replace a similar model (zs7)used when I needed a small super zoom travel camera. It works great with many new features. To correct a slight clipping of the highlights in some pictures I set the exposure lower by 2/3 stop. Adorama had the best price.
Pros:
- Easy To Use
- Fast/accurate auto-focus
- Good Image Quality
- Good Image Stabilization
- Great Zoom
- Large Clear LCD
- Short Lag Time
- Small / Compact
Cons:
- No Viewfinder
- Short Battery Life

Many options available, need to work out the ones really needed
Almost too many options, the manual is well structured but takes time to absorb the many ways that the unit can be operated. Suggest that you start simple and build confidence in the mechanics before trying some of the smarter facilities
Pros:
- Compact
- Build quality
- Battery life
- Screen size
Cons:
- Complicated

Great zoom in such a small package.
This camera is so easy to use and yet has some sophisticated features such as "hand-held night shot" and GPS locator. The only thing I miss is a view-finder, but you're not going to get that with such a small camera. And, it's so easy to charge the battery, too.

"Great camera but with average picture quality"
This is a light weight 18.1 megapixels, best travel camera with powerful 20x optical zoom lens in a very slim body, which will fit in your hands perfectly. The HD video recording is the best bet on this camera with 1920 x 1080 50p Full HD Video Recording.
Pros:
- Almost a Hi-end Camera
Cons:
- Picture quality is not extraordinary

So far I have been very pleased with this camera it is simple to use and takes great close up shots as well as distance shots with the intelligent zoom we have managed to take shots of things we can not make out with the naked eye, this takes a very steady hand though.

- Good Sized Screen
- Easy To Use
- Fast Shutter Speed
- Excellent In Low Light
- Nice Features and Settings
- Good Battery Life
