Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30
Like earlier iterations of Panasonic's travel zoom range, the TZ30 boasts plenty of features that jet setters will find invaluable. This camera sits neatly in the hand, and there's a substantial grip on the front panel.
Pros:
- 20x optical zoom
- Reasonably speedy performance, especially for burst shooting
- Good image-stabilisation system
- Good image quality
Cons:
- Relatively low-resolution screen versus its competitors
- No RAW capture
- Battery drains quickly

We really like the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 and think that it really does live up to its purpose as a travel camera. It possesses excellent versatility thanks to its 20x optical zoom lens, has a wealth of features, is easy to use and it performs well, both in terms of speed and image quality.
Pros:
- Versatile lens
- Good image quality
- Easy to use
Cons:
- Build could be a little better
- Has to be charged via its USB port

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30
The green GPS light keeps flashing all night even when the camera is switched off. Do you really expect me to go into the setup menue everytime I switch it on /off to deal with Gps settings?

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30
What's not to like? The TZ30 has taken everything that made the TZ20 good and made it one step better. As follow-ups go they don't come much better. However, battery life could be longer and image quality could be improved further – though that's common for most, if not all, compact cameras.
Pros:
- 20x optical zoom
- excellent image stabilisation
- very fast autofocus
Cons:
- Battery life okay at best
- GPS eats battery life
- image quality good but not exceptional

Best balance at the bargain price I paid.
This camera was purchased cheaply, due to a closing down sale. I would not have bought this camera otherwise. It has won a lot of reviews, though the TZ25 has edged it in some. The image stabilizer is very good.
Pros:
- This camera was purchased cheaply, due to a closing down sale
- I would not have bought this camera otherwise
- It has won a lot of reviews, though the TZ25 has edged it in some
- The image stabilizer is very good.
Cons:
- Typical of Panasonic cameras is make sure you leave the mode selector on shoot
- The delay is long in review mode
- No post red-eye removal in camera like my Canon SX200is.

Point, Shoot, Recall!!
Had been long looking for a GPS enabled camera. got one of these last month. This model is an improvement over the DMZ-20. The GPS seek time is less than before, however the sensitivity leaves much to be desired.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ30 review
Panasonic invented the pocket-sized ultra-zoom camera with its TZ series, but last year's Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ20 was outgunned by rival cameras offering bigger zooms and better image quality, especially in low light.

I knew things must have moved on since buying my first digital camera - although 4 Megapixels seemed amazing at the time. But I hadn't realised they'd moved on this much. This amazingly compact camera is easy to use and, crucially, takes great looking pictures.
