Low light performace in a (baggy) pocket camera

As an intermediate photographer the LX7 complements my TZ30. Operating systems are similar so it's fairly easy to flip between them although I'm still exploring the extended LX7 features.

Easy to use; Compact; Build quality; Battery life; Screen size

This is "A" camera

I own a Fuji XT-1 with a couple lenses and I am very happy with the equipment, especially after living with Rolleiflexes, Hasselblads, Leicas and Nikons for more than 50 years. The Fuji quality is outstanding and it provides plenty of freedom to create.

Easy To Use; Fast/accurate auto-focus; Good Image Quality; Good Image Stabilization; Good in Low Light; Large Clear LCD; Small / Compact

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX7 10.1MP White Digital Camera 8GB Bundle

The camera itself is great, but the bundle components are not as high in quality as I expected. Although, the extra battery works well. The screen protector was not effective and kept slipping off, and the camera case is not very functional.

Panasonic Camera Lumix Lx7 DMc-Lx7K Bla

Great price. $20 cheaper than quoted in Consumer Reports Magazine. Great camera, easy to use. Took clear, sharp pictures. Very lightweight and slim. Shots look professional looking. Video quality is good, not distorted. You can slip it in your pocket, and it came with a carrying strap.

Lumix LX7

I took a long while picking this out. Weeks maybe. Only the Sony RX100 seemed to be better at this size but it was far more costly. Leica sells almost the same camera but again, for much more cost. This seemed like a good mix for my needs of size, quality and cost.

!.4 Leica lens is a step above the rest, for this price point of camera; Its super small size was its main selling point for me; The LX7 has an outstanding LCD that is easy to see.

LCD is not articulating but is large and has almost a Million pixels; The EVF is sold separately and is quite expensive but would make it larger; ISO over 100 seems noisy to me but I am super picky about that and I don't think that's unusual, for this size of sensor.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX7

Exceptional photo and video quality, nippy performance and lots of creative control – as close to perfect as we've seen from a compact camera

Building on their well-regarded Lumix LX5, this year Panasonic introduced the LX7.

On paper, you'd expect the Panasonic LX7 to perform as well as or better than its vaunted rivals, the Sony RX100 and Canon S110. With a Leica-branded f/1.4 lens, a 1/1.7-inch image sensor, and the processing power to shoot 12 frames per second and 1080/60p video, this should've been a winner.

It's been over two years since Panasonic upgraded its premium LX lineup, which in Panasonic terms is a pretty long time indeed.
