Panasonic's newest addition to their Lumix mirrorless lineup, the Lumix G85 is a Mirco Four Thirds system featuring a 16-Megapixel Live MOS sensor, their new 5-axis image stabilization system, and 4K video capture.

Overall image quality is very good; Low image noise through ISO 3200; Dedicated Video Capture Button is always ready to record; Full control over still image and video settings allow for total creative freedom no matter how you shoot; Built-in 5-axis image stabilization allows you to shoot handheld...

Even when shooting with the EVF; the LCD touch screen is active making it very easy to change your touch AF or other features; Higher ISO images are incredibly dull from noise

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85 Mirrorless Camera Review

The new Panasonic G85 is based on a Micro Four Thirds 16MP. The camera offers a brilliant electronic viewfinder based on OLED technology. This viewfinder is very large (0.74x; equivalent to a 35mm film camera with a 50mm lens) and offers a high resolution of 2.36 million RGB dots.

Panasonic has made a name for itself in the past year not only on its solid technologies, but also for offering up very competitive cameras. The Lumix G85 is another great camera, one that gets better if you buy with its 12-60mm kit lens.

Balance and Sufficiency

For me the Panasonic G85 is about balance and sufficiency. It has traditional DSLR handling, suitably downsized in the M4/3 system for less bulk and weight, yet retaining comfortable button and dial ergonomics.

If you're looking for a good film camera that's $1000 or cheaper, this is the camera.

Pare this with the $200 Viltrox Speadbooster, and you have yourself a the GH5's baby brother. This is hands down the best camera you can buy at this price. If you don't care about the incredible built in stabilization, then just get the G7. But I could rave about this camera all day.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85

Arriving in stores roughly six months after the DMC-GX85 camera was announced, Panasonic's new DMC-G85 slots in just below the now venerable GH-4, to provide a slightly smaller and lighter SLR-styled model for enthusiast photographers and introduce a wealth of handy innovations, including improved...

Review: Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85

Everyone, that is, apart from Panasonic. Going by looks alone, the Lumix G85 is practically pedestrian. Dull as dishwater. Distinctly average.

The G85 is Panasonic's mid-level all-arounder. It is very much a refinement of the Panasonic G7 , which is still an impressively-capable camera, but one that does not reach its full potential due to the issue of shutter shock.

Works great.

For the price you can't go wrong. B-cam to the GH4. Works great.
