Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85 Mirrorless Camera Review

Verdict: The new Panasonic G85 is based on a Micro Four Thirds 16MP. The camera offers a brilliant electronic viewfinder based on OLED technology. This viewfinder is very large (0.74x; equivalent to a 35mm film camera with a 50mm lens) and offers a high resolution of 2.36 million RGB dots.

Pros: Overall image quality is very good, Low image noise through ISO 3200, Dedicated Video Capture Button is always ready to record, Full control over still image and video settings allow for total creative freedom no matter how you shoot, Built-in 5-axis image stabilization allows you to shoot handheld...
Cons: Even when shooting with the EVF, the LCD touch screen is active making it very easy to change your touch AF or other features, Higher ISO images are incredibly dull from noise
Verdict: Panasonic's newest addition to their Lumix mirrorless lineup, the Lumix G85 is a Mirco Four Thirds system featuring a 16-Megapixel Live MOS sensor, their new 5-axis image stabilization system, and 4K video capture.

Verdict: The G85 is Panasonic's mid-level all-arounder. It is very much a refinement of the Panasonic G7 , which is still an impressively-capable camera, but one that does not reach its full potential due to the issue of shutter shock.

Review: Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85

4.2
Verdict: Everyone, that is, apart from Panasonic. Going by looks alone, the Lumix G85 is practically pedestrian. Dull as dishwater. Distinctly average.

Verdict: Panasonic has made a name for itself in the past year not only on its solid technologies, but also for offering up very competitive cameras. The Lumix G85 is another great camera, one that gets better if you buy with its 12-60mm kit lens.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85

4.5
Verdict: Arriving in stores roughly six months after the DMC-GX85 camera was announced, Panasonic's new DMC-G85 slots in just below the now venerable GH-4, to provide a slightly smaller and lighter SLR-styled model for enthusiast photographers and introduce a wealth of handy innovations, including improved...

A great bundle, overall worth it

5.0
Verdict: A great bundle, overall worth it. And the camera is proving to be a sweet image gathering device, especially for the price. Low light performance is not that fantastic with the included lens, as is expected, so I will probably get a Speedbooster sometime in the future, as well as prime lenses.

Really Fantastic Camera

5.0
Verdict: I purchased this as an upgrade to my GH4. I loved my GH4 and used it for stills and video over the last 3 years. For my needs, the G85 is a much better tool. For photography the G85 is a much better camera. I liked the feel and ergonomics of the GH4, but prefer the G85.
